Not Impressed  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I am using the balun to match an all band delta loop to a 50 ohm coax feeder. The website and enclosed instructions state "they are made up of two low-permeability cores". Clearly there is only a single core and the information is misleading. While designed for mounting at the centre of a dipole the plastic case is not weatherproof. The stainless support eye-bolt at the top is poorly sealed and allows the ingress of water. The side covers are loose, are not sealed to the main case and flop around as they are only held by two screws. In its present form the balun is not suitable for external mounting without further sealing. I have mounted mine on a pole under a bucket.
Electrically the balun works satisfactorily. I have referred the matter to MFJ and no response after 3 weeks.The MFJ website data indicating two cores is still incorrect.
