Great Antenna  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I purchased this beam several months ago but just put it up a few weeks ago.

It is very easy to assemble. The driven element was damaged in shipment but Cheap Ham sent me a new one within days.

I replaced a vertical antenna with this beam. The beam is far superior than the vertical. It is only up 20 feet high. I work a repeater that is 105 miles away on a daily basis. I receive the repeater nearly full scale on my S meter anytime during the the day or night. I hear repeaters over 200 miles away.

I tried to order another one but unfortunately they are out of stock at the time of this review.

I can't wait to stack 2 of these antennas but for now the one antenna is preforming great.

Exceeds Expectations !  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Timely arrival undamaged via FED EX ground at quite reasonable cost ($9.00 in my case), adequate instructions written in good English, all holes lined up, all hardware intact. Boom is square aluminum, 4/5th" X about .090" thick. All elements and boom mounting locations are numbered for easy ID and placement. The elements are about 3/8" seamless aluminum tubing supplied with tight fitting end caps affixed. The elements rest in sturdy black plastic saddles that secure them tightly and perpendicular to the boom, with screws that pass through the assemblies and the boom and are fastened in place with washer, lock-washer and wingnut, plus thin semicircular rolled metal strips that clamp the top side of the elements and eliminate any possibility of stress cracking at the element center hole. The two closest directors (elements 4 & 5) are identically sized and the other directors (elements 6-10) are slightly shorter but also identically sized) Do a quick verification that these check out before assembly because you may later notice an optical illusion looking front to rear where the directors appear to taper rearward. Also, it will serve to help eliminate any chance of a director being mislabeled, should a mistake occur. In place at 22 ft high, a Bird 43 wattmeter and 50 watts revealed a flat 1 or 2 tenths of a watt reflected, from 222-225 Mhz. Using a 4 element yagi and a 6.6 dbi omni colinear for references, I found the gain claim of 12 dbi to be very believable. With band enhancement, this antenna can frequently experience ranges of 100-150 miles here in NC. Imagine what it would do at higher heights! It's well thought out, manufactured and delivered without hitch or surprise, at a price point that's unbeatable. Cheapham(dot)com deserves recognition for this product.

p.s. While the hardware is not stainless, the boom-mast bracket is anodized and the hardware completely acceptable. As always with vertical polarization and mast placement between the elements, chose an insulated mast material, like PVC to avoid pattern interaction.
