2M/70CM mobile antenna   Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought this to replace the Diamond SG-7900A I had for many years which broke above the loading coil.
Cosmetically it's the same except for the tilt over hinge which on this one has a locking collar. Seems to be a good idea. These antennas are long enough to hit low tree branches, so you to have to be careful of that. I had been using my old SG-7500,the 40 inch one,but the range is somewhat limited. This version is great for hitting those distant repeaters, or for longer simplex use. It's about 60-62 inches high, with the uhf mount. It's also nice being able to use lower power and save my finals. The antenna comes already tuned for best swr,you simply put the top whip section on and tighten the setscrew. We'll see how it holds up.
