Very High Gain!
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
As a reference I tested the H&K on a Hickok model #752 Gm type tube tester. I also referenced a new Cetron JAN 811A.
H&K
6.3 volts filament- 1450 mhos
5.0 volts filament- 1350 mhos
4.3 volts filament- 1150 mhos
3.0 volts filament- 750 mhos
CETRON
6.3 volts filament- 1100 mhos
5.0 volts filament- 900 mhos
4.3 volts filament- 700 mhos
3.0 volts filament- 450 mhos
Although the H&K tube has higher gain over the Cetron, this does not indicate the H&K will have longer life. This reference is not scientific by any means, just interesting. I am quite pleased with the performance of Cetron 811As and are very welcome in my amplifiers, especially so after Svetlana dropped production of the 811A.
