excellent, excellent !  Time owned: more than 12 months
i have had a TP-1 for 20 years or so. i really, really like it... well, so much so that i recently bought another one. it was a used kit that had never been assembled. before putting it together, i pressed-out the bearings from the block and hand-polished every last piece of brass to an incredible like-new radiance.

the operation is very pleasing to the fingers. i like the wide spacing of the paddles, as well as their shape and size. adjustment is easy and it stays, once set.

owning two should be sufficient recommendation to anyone!

Solid Key  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I have had the Kent Key for about 8 months, and it is a very solid and smooth key. I might say that this key is probally not for operators that want a no feel reaction on the return when sending. The Kent key is for a heavier touch, like mine. With that said, this is an excellent key for a very good price. Highly recommend.

Alluring paddle  Time owned: more than 12 months
I bought this paddle key as a kit some years ago. The main body of the key was already assembled and the kit was completed in about one or two hours. I have a nice feeling with the key. The base of the key is very stable and can also be used at high speeds.

I prefer this key to the Bencher. However I tested the Begali Magnetic Classic at a Hamfest and I believe that the Begali, albeit costs more, is better. Overall, if I would rate the Bencher 3 and the Begali 5 the kent is fair to rate with a 4.

Action is as smooth as silk.
Quality product.

Very Good  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
The Kent is a very good paddle....it would be great except for one feature.
Why, oh why do manufacturers make the locking nut the same diameter as the actual contact screw. This makes locking the setting difficult because the tendency is to move both at one time. HINT..... make the locking nut ring a LARGER diameter so its' easier to lock the setting. Not rocket science!

Superb  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This is a really superb key. The buid quality is excellent and it has a very satisfying precision/solid feel. It is easy to adjust the tension and contact spacing and once set they stay put. I have mine set to about the thickness of a piece of photocopy paper and the tension pretty light and it is a delight to use. At first I found the spacing between the paddles rather large but I soon got used to this. I particularly like the lack of bend/flex in the paddles and this seems to help the accuracy of the sending. I don't think they come much better.

Solid!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Bought new off eBay from hoosier-man W8GEG. I've had various inexpensive paddles over the years due to my low budget for ham gear. To find such a high quality set of paddles for an economic price is a difficult challenge. I've always wanted a set of Kent Paddles, and now I have a set of my very own. Excellent quality at an affordable price. I am certain they will have a long life in my ham shack. de Jerry N5RV

Excellent key!  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
I bought it used on EBay and when it arrived I wished I would have bought it new but.....with the super support from Jim at Alpha Delta and from Robert Kent (yes, Mr. Kent truly does support his products) I am a proud owner of this wonderful key! Great product! Great support! What else could you ask for? As for the feel of the key, I would rate it a 5! I never was pleased with the feel of the Bencher (sold it).
