Don't buy one -- it's a waste of money  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought a VC-24 headset new with my VX-6R, to use in the field for public service events and EMCOMM.

I never got to use it. The headband broke in my go-bag. I called Yaesu about getting a replacement part and they told me that they don't offer replacement parts for 'inexpensive' items like that. I will put it as 'owned' for 0-3 months because that's about as long as it lasted in my bag -- zero months. I keep hoping I'll find a headset from another manufacturer that offers parts, like Plantronics, and see if I can find a replacement headband that will work, but I've had no luck so far.

So I've decided not to give any more of my money to Yaesu. Don't you do it, either. It's very poorly designed, very fragile, and Yaesu's complete lack of post-sales service hammered that coffin lid shut permanently.
