Exceeded expectations-led to easy tracking  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Our school club, AB0BX, used the Micro Trak 1000 for a 1,560 gram payload HAB flight 11-13-16, launched from deer Trail, CO., during a flight that went nearly 8 hours. The unit performed flawlessly. Our flight lasted almost 8 hours, reached an apogee of 90,317 feet, and with the unit encased in two inch pink thinsulate as a carrier, temperature remained near 70 degrees F. We located the landing zone in rural eastern Colorado, near town of Lamar. We never lost the RF foot print on our D72A HT's. We missed seeing our payload land due to a parachute malfunction, but from 5 miles away, using our Kenwood D72A APRS radios, the unit was still putting out the GPS coordinates directly to its location while LAYING on the ground! We estimated it hit the ground at 30MPH after falling the first 60,000 feet at 60 MPH. Used lithium batteries. Can't say enough about it- we thought for sure it could freeze up but did remarkably well. Super engineering by Byonics- Customer service by email was always quick during testing- they took a real personal approach to helping us- Both HabHub.org and APRS.FI tracked us perfectly as well with it's packets......73 Paul Veal N0AH
