Works as intended  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
The first balun I got from Buck had some mechanical issues but he replaced it promptly, grumbled a bit but he replaced it quickly. The balun does work. I wanted an 80-2 type of OCF/Windom and the instructions included gave the exact wire length to use on each side. I tested it in my front yard but ran out of yard and the long leg was actually lying on the ground for the last 20 foot. 15' high at the apex is all I could get with a PVC mast. SWR's were surprisingly acceptable on most bands it covered, 2.5 and under even partially lying on the ground. I actually made a proper contact in Canada from No. Central Texas on 20 meters. Further testing will continue but the balun seems to be working just fine.
