Colin was very patient in getting the map function to work on my computer. Everything works great and easy to enter data. Again customer support was outstanding.

It's light on resources, it's very fast, and it works.
The author is also extremely helpful.
Register and you get a great add-on package.
Highly recommended.

The Best

Winlog continues to improve, now with dual rig keying support for the Winkey 2, as well as dual radio control, Colin has moved this software with the times, his lastest addition is band maps. And more features are sure to be on the way. You can't help but love this program.
Although the software is freeware, I would highly encourage users to register the software for 20 bucks and get the bonus of the map feature, the software is 100% fully functional as it comes, but with the registration fee in addition to the maps, you will get a good feeling in knowing that you are in a small way contributing to all the time and effort Colin puts into this software. Plus the maps are a pretty neat feature too.
With Winlog32, and N1MM Contest Logger, ALL your ham logging needs are met in first class form!

My All Time Favorite

I've used this program for about 4 years now and it is absolutely the best out there. I especailly like the QSL card design and printing function, as well as the WAS, DXCC and other awards tracking. I've logged several thousand contacts with this program and almost everyone who's gotten a QSL card from me in the past 4 years has gotten a personalized home made QSL card, designed and printed using this program.
Colin the author, has continued to improve and upgrade this software and so I've continued to upgrade to his latest versions to keep up with additional features and improvements he keeps adding. This program has all the features you could spend a lot for in one of those commercial programs, yet Colin provides it free for hams.
To those who claim they can't figure out how to log a contact with this program - shame on you. Your so obvious less than truthful bias isn't fooling anyone.
This is a great logging program, not perfect, but darn near close and better than some of the stuff you'll pay a lot for. I know because I've tried quite a few. Downloaded almost anything I could find online that let me try it. I even paid for a couple only to be disappointed. One or two came close but Colin's QSL card designer and print function sold me. My second favorite was WinEQF. It works well and is easy to use but lacks the QSL card function. Being able to design and print a QSL right from your logger is a great function. Yet most loggers do little more than print a label for you. The only limitations I've had using this program has been the limited capabilities of my printer, not the software. Give Winlog32 a try, you'll like it.

Almost perfect

I have been using Winlog32 (WL32) for 5 years and really use it extensively for about a year. Before this I tried : Logger32, Easylog, DX4Win, Swisslog just to name a few.
I mainly focus on hunting DX and chasing awards. I chose to definitely stay with WL32 for the following reasons:
I like:
- It is very stable even on light PC
- It is free !
- I have everything I need to operate on the screen of my PC (log, cluster, lookup window, map of contacted country, propagation, CAT, rotator control, winkey suport...) I could put more, but my monitor is only 17" !
- Popular awards tracking is built-in and you can easily create any missing awards
- A QSL / labels editor is built-in
- It manages LOTW and e-QSL
- Support from the author (Colin - G0CUZ) is great. He is always open to implement useful features/provide support.
I do not like:
- I remember that in my initial days, I did not find the software to be intuitive! If you do not read the help file, you will probably miss 80% of the features.
I now have 40,000+ QSO in WL32 and can only recommend you to give it a try... it is FREE !

I downloaded the lastest version of Winlog a couple of days ago. A total bust, several basic features simply do not work. And the author simply does not respond or suggests that I read the "Help" section. Forget the Winlog32 forums, no help there. The only "assistance" from the forum is that "it is the greatest thing since sliced bread." No technical assistance from anyone.

I have read the help file! This program is one of the best. Look at the price, it can't be beat. Have used for over two years and no problems at all. Exports easily to LOTW. The feature I like the best is I can just enter the prefix of a call into the check prefix box and get the beam heading. Lot of programs require you actually enter the callsign first and then it gives the info. I like to tweek the quad before I call. It's a great program. Learn to use it before knocking.

The blinking Red box I presume is the "Log" one telling you that there is no log designated yet to use. Colin G0CUZ has made a gem of log that is simple to setup and use.
I have been using it now for over 2 years and its been faultless. Have tried others like Logger32 which is another excellent logger but "Too Busy" for me.
Personally I have found it to be a masterpiece of simplicity. The log is currently running in conjunction with the Transceiver, Dx Cluster and Callbook. The admin side of the awards is great as is the quick reference charts for Band Dxcc and the activity charts. I also like the Solar Data chart to keep a running record of the SFI/A/K indices.
In general Winlog32 is a "Hoot" to use.

I downloaded this program several weeks ago and although I haven't spent a lot of time trying to use it I still haven't figured out how to imput a call sign. It's got this red box that blinks on and off. Pretty. Aside from that I don't know.

Simply the BEST

I have used a lot of different programs over the last 15 or so years, and Colin has the best of all of them, period. My first QSO with this app was 4-28-2001 and I have used it ever since then, it runs 24-7 and it's the first app I open when I turn on the PC, 6809 QSO's later it's still my favorite, it does everything from collect and track solar data from the cluster, (neat graphs) to track all of the main awards out there. It has a nice DX-cluster (easily set to alert you of only the needed ones) built in and has great rig-control. Click on the DX spot and your rig's freq and mode go right to it. It's almost TOO easy :-) It has a Contest Mode for rapid entry, it's easy to import QSO's as well, I log RTTY contest QSO's in MMTTY and it's a breeze to move them over to Winlog after the test. Colin has added a LOTW interface that works great, and of course it does real time eQSL uploads, and he is constantly improving the software, and adding new countres and pre-fixes to the data bases to keep everything up-to-date. I love the award tracking features, I can tell you my standings on just about all the awards, whats confirmed, worked, or needed, by bands or modes whatever, and in just a couple of mouse clicks.
Colin even includes a feature that lets you export your QSO's to a web page so you can have your log on your web site. And I am sure there are more features I haven't used yet. It will make QSL's but I haven't tried that.
I have tried most of the other programs, but nothing out there can beat this one for being user-friendly AND powerful. I don't care how much you spend, you're just throwin away money!!
On the rare occasions I have had a problem, (usually my doing) Colin has responded FAST and with a solution every time, and usually within an hour or so, he's a real gentelman! THANKS COLIN!
