Great general purpose 2m beam  Time owned: more than 12 months
At 14.2dBi gain, 3.5Kg and an 18.5 degree beam width, this is never going to be an ultimate antenna, but what it is is a great general purpose DX antenna for the 2m band. The weight alone means that this well made lightweight antenna will never put too much strain in your rotator (I use a Kenpro KR-400 of dubious vintage). The gain and beam width makes it an idea 2000Km + MS antenna, a starter antenna for EME and good tropo antenna too. There is no element droop as in the nine element version and in my opinion it is generally well made with square main and support booms and solid passive elements. Protect the driven element with self amalgamating tape and this antenna will give you years of reliable use.
Performance wise with this antenna and 400w I have in 3 years worked 445 QRA squares and 56 DXCCs on 2m, not bad for a little starter beam.
