PCB and component kit  Time owned: more than 12 months
I built this kit about 5 years ago ( before International US postage went so expensive). This comes as 2 pcbs , one is the relay pcb which goes outside and the other is the control pcb which sits on your desk.
Construction is straightforward , you must supply the mounting hardware, multi core cable, switches and the 2 loops .
Mine runs off 12volts and draws about 150mA when the preamp is on.
The two loops allow a cardiod response in 4 directions , so you can null out or peak as you desire. I do not have the room for beverages etc so the K9AY fits the bill.
Location of the K9AY should be away from your transmitting aerial otherwise RF may get back on your receive port, a switching receive control may help at the back of the rig
It is usefull from LF to about 40m, so works well if your into MW dxing, so I can null out those pesky European stations when I'm listening across the pond for Stateside stuff.
If your into Topband you need a receive aerial and this kit will do the job , so 5 years in and still working so it does what it says on the tin.
