Better and Better

I have been using the N1MM logger for contesting for more than two years. My primary usage is RTTY contesting. The MMTTY interface works flawlessly when setup correctly with a Microham USB II interface. My Rig is a TS-480SAT teamed with a Dell D820 laptop. I use a LDG AT-200 Pro auto-tuner with a G5RV. During Field Day I add a PK-232 TNC and an IC-V8000 2-meter rig to obtain DX Cluster info from a station that is two miles from our FD site (KR9U). I have also programmed wav files for the software using Audacity and done voice keying phone contests. I have also used MMVARI for PSK31 contests. N1MM supports the K1EL keyer, but, I have not attempted any CW contests yet. The software keeps getting better and better. I have not attempted any networked multi-computer stations yet. N1MM supports up to 15 stations. The documentation is extensive at last count the manual is more than 395 pages (Adobe PDF) with all topics hyperlinked. No need to print the manual. My hats off to the programmers, N1MM and his team. I have looked at the other contest logging programs ($$$$$), but, for me this one does it all and does it well. This one is FREE, although it does not hurt to donate to the effort. There are also extensive help files for the software and Tom, N1MM does respond to questions via email.

The Best

I was comparing N1MM to some of the other loggers that I had heard were in more top contest stations overall, what I saw were programs with less contests covered overall than just the RTTY contests in N1MM, or other programs that used a separate program for each contest, at a price too
N1MM does it all in one package, very solid, completely free, and continuously updated by a group of hardworking programmers.
As many others stated it works great in the digital modes with the MMTTY engine, it has all the bells and whistles, live online stats, complete export functions, you can even export program settings to a friend, it does everything you need done in a contest, period.
If you haven't tried it, what are you waiting for? It won't cost you a thing,

great, especially for RTTY contests

I've enjoyed using N1MM logger for several contests, and I especially like it for RTTY contests. It is nicely integrated with MMTTY. It does have a few quirks, however. If you don't enter a callsign in the callsign window, the serial number (to send) is not incremented. This is not intuitive and resulted in a few busted calls. Too bad there's no option to work around this problem (should auto-increment before the next QSO). Other than this minor problem, this software is great and you can't beat the price. Works FB with my Yaesu FT-950.

HUGE HELP for T88RY!
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

At home I normally use this software for contesting and it is complete and powerful.
Also, I have been using it in Palau as T88RY. Propagation was very poor with USA and EUROPE. Signals were very weak but this software was able to identify callsigns among many received characters and gave me a huge help for logging the correct callsigns.
HUGE HELP and HUGE PROGRAM from the N1MM team !

Top performer with digital contests

The gang at KL2R has been using N1MM on and off since Field Day. We just finished ARRL RTTY Roundup, and I can say N1MM does a fantastic job when integrated with MMTTY and MMVARI digital engines. Highly recommended, now that we have a bit more experience with it. There is much to learn, but basic competency comes rather quickly. We fumbled for the first 15 minutes and then now and again during the contest. The programs are very resilient, and everyone using it this past weekend sang praises for the setup.
There is some setting related to FT-950 control, which causes the radio to key up for several seconds at N1MM startup. We can't specifically attribute it to N1MM. Possibly it's an issue with the new radio driver and/or with the Microham USB Router we used. Investigations continue.
I do not hesitate to recommend N1MM to the SO1R or M/S contest station.

I like it a lot!

I am new to contesting and asked around for a program, which friends suggested this N1MM. I downloaded (free) and played with for a week or so.
I then operated my second contest, ARRL SS SSB, and learn as I operated also. I was suprised at all the features and ease of use. Really is a nice program.
At the end it was easily imported logs to my main logging program, LOGGER32, using ADIF.
I plan to use it as a contest program from now on. Good work to the programmers!!

Powerful, and great support from users

I'm new to contest loggers, but have sure enjoyed my first few CW and RTTY contests with it. The manual is huge (over 300 pages), but everything you want to know is there. The e-mail users list is fantastic -- quick to help beginners, and accurate advice. This looks like the program to use!

In a Word--- FREE

I have used N1MM logger for well over 18 months. It is well organized and flexible in all modes. I recently used it in a SSB contest and had created some voice keying files with Audacity (also FREE). It sure saved the voice and fully modulated the radio. I have also used it for PSK and RTTY contests. It has all the features you will ever need. The manual is well written and explains how to set it up for any contest. Write Log, NA, TR Log and CT all are fine. But, I think N1MM is a much better product and easier to use. Tom, N1MM has created a real winner. Now if all you have is an ancient, slow PC that runs DOS than you will need TR Log. But if you have a PC running Windows 98 or newer and 500 MHz P II 0r P III or faster and 128 MB of RAM, then try N1MM. I know you will like it.
