Top performer with digital contests  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
The gang at KL2R has been using N1MM on and off since Field Day. We just finished ARRL RTTY Roundup, and I can say N1MM does a fantastic job when integrated with MMTTY and MMVARI digital engines. Highly recommended, now that we have a bit more experience with it. There is much to learn, but basic competency comes rather quickly. We fumbled for the first 15 minutes and then now and again during the contest. The programs are very resilient, and everyone using it this past weekend sang praises for the setup.

There is some setting related to FT-950 control, which causes the radio to key up for several seconds at N1MM startup. We can't specifically attribute it to N1MM. Possibly it's an issue with the new radio driver and/or with the Microham USB Router we used. Investigations continue.

I do not hesitate to recommend N1MM to the SO1R or M/S contest station.

I like it a lot!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I am new to contesting and asked around for a program, which friends suggested this N1MM. I downloaded (free) and played with for a week or so.
I then operated my second contest, ARRL SS SSB, and learn as I operated also. I was suprised at all the features and ease of use. Really is a nice program.
At the end it was easily imported logs to my main logging program, LOGGER32, using ADIF.
I plan to use it as a contest program from now on. Good work to the programmers!!

Powerful, and great support from users  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I'm new to contest loggers, but have sure enjoyed my first few CW and RTTY contests with it. The manual is huge (over 300 pages), but everything you want to know is there. The e-mail users list is fantastic -- quick to help beginners, and accurate advice. This looks like the program to use!

In a Word--- FREE  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have used N1MM logger for well over 18 months. It is well organized and flexible in all modes. I recently used it in a SSB contest and had created some voice keying files with Audacity (also FREE). It sure saved the voice and fully modulated the radio. I have also used it for PSK and RTTY contests. It has all the features you will ever need. The manual is well written and explains how to set it up for any contest. Write Log, NA, TR Log and CT all are fine. But, I think N1MM is a much better product and easier to use. Tom, N1MM has created a real winner. Now if all you have is an ancient, slow PC that runs DOS than you will need TR Log. But if you have a PC running Windows 98 or newer and 500 MHz P II 0r P III or faster and 128 MB of RAM, then try N1MM. I know you will like it.

A pleasure to use  Time owned: more than 12 months
I Use this software during ssb, cw and digi contests and it runs errorfree.

I have used non-free software also but this is as good.

Many thanks to N1MM and the crew.

A must for the contester  Time owned: more than 12 months
I am using N1MM Logger for contest logging since 2002, especially in RTTY contests, but I use it also for daily logging. The major advandange of the software is that it's absolutely free and continiously upgraded.
To mention some cons, MMTTY engine does not start with the 1st attempt and sometimes after a major software upgrade, some previous bells did not work properly. On the other hand, the almost instant bug-fixing makes the cons to be almost not-noticable.
Congrats to all the team that work on this and spend a lot of time.

Rock Solid Reliabiltiy  Time owned: more than 12 months
I've been using N1MM for about three years off and on. While in YI, I used a competitor's product which works decently but is not free. Facing additional costs after each major upgrade I decided to go to N1MM full time.

Built-in support for SO2R using soundcards works flawlessly. Multiple computer networking is easy and straight-forward.

I use two monitors and it really helps see all the information screens available.

This is a first rate product with excellent support.

Great software  Time owned: more than 12 months
Holy smoke...it's been almost two years since anyone has taken time to review Logger here on eHam.

Perhaps I'm not the best person to do that, but I am willing to go out on a limb and share a few thoughts and realities.

First. I have used several other contest software packages...some free, some for bux...over the past few years that I've been contesting since we got computers in our shacks anyway. Not only is Logger free, it's just simply outstanding!

Second. THE MOST important feature of any software, save the design and execution, is the support one recieves. Not only do the author(s) belong to the reflector, the help there is present and always polite and helpful. Are there any problems with Logger...oh, a few minor ones...but unlike some reflectors, almost everything is positive, constructive and helpful. Not only that, but the archives for the reflector are vast. (OK sometimes that's a problem, but a current post will usually be answered quickly and accurately within minutes.)

Third. While the manual is extensive (356 pages at last report) it is well written, well organized, and accurate. You don't have to read the whole thing, because the menu system takes you very close to your question or technical support point. Sometimes it gets a bit too technical, but it's not that hard to figure it out.

Fourth. You can get it running intuitively. By that I mean, even a first timer can probably get a rig on the air on cw or even rtty with little or no support. The quick start stuff gets you going pretty easily.

So, am I sold on it? You bet. I use if for every contest, hour after hour it works perfectly. It support all the contest I want to work, and many, many more. My previous experience, for bux, with a well known competitor was a nightmare. Logger took off the first time and has worked well for me now for several years. I'm very pleased with it.

So...not to effusive, I hope, but I am sold on this monumental free program. Go ahead, give it a try. Be sure to read the start-up instructions and load the base program first before downloading and running the current update. It's fun, it's easy, and you'll enjoy it, I'm sure.

Good luck in the contests, and please work me!

Larry, N0XB
