a first rate product

I ordered it on a Thursday afternoon and got it Tuesday. It was packed well and the material making up the antenna was first-rate. It went together quickly with no trouble. I put it together just looking at the picture, but did read the directions to tune it a bit. SWR is great from 50.1 to 50.5.

Very Impressed So Far

I wanted to get into six meters, as my radio is HF/6m. Having a Par EndFedz 20m, I know what a quality and great-working antenna it is. I have an Arrow antenna and really like them, but a small beam isn't practical right now where the antenna goes. So, I figured I would give Par a try. I've only tried to use it once, and it was very quiet, at around S1-2 noise level. No activity on the band that day. I called Dale late on a Friday afternoon, to talk to him about it and he stayed after work and we talked for a long time. I ordered one, and about 11:30 that night, I checked my email. Dale had come by the shop, verified the order and said it would be shipped on Monday. Monday, I got an email that it was ready for UPS pick up, and a tracking number was included with the email. UPS delivered it on Wednesday. The workmanship and ease of assembly are top notch. I left one inch like is suggested, and the SWR meter on my FT-450 showed the lowest reading it has. I am anxiously waiting for some six meter band openings to really try it out. I'll make another post when I have more to tell.

Can't be true!

I hope that this antenna saved me TIME, WORK and MONEY. No tuning, I just left an inch or so from the tips to the horizontal boom and the SWR was close to 1.1 from 50 to 50.350Mhz, the entire range of the MFJ-9406. Materials seem to me to be premium quality. I just hope it is a CROW-PROOF antenna too.

Excellent Product and Service

I emailed Dale at PAR several questions about the OA-50 prior to purchase. Dale answered all questions promptly. I ordered and he even checked with me a couple days later to make sure I had received my tracking number and went overboard to see that I had my antenna for CQWW VHF.
Only had it mounted at about 12' on a backyard portable tripod, but had great fun on 6M. Heard a couple guys on the band using the same.
Now contemplating getting another one to stack, or maybe the stressed Moxon? Decisions, decisions.
A well earned 5 for PAR.

5 Thumbs Up !!!

In a recent move and major downsize I went from a 6 element Cushcraft Boomer at 75' to a Par OA-50 at maybe 20' on the chimney of my 1 story home in Ohio. Admittedly the Par is no match for the Boomer BUT it's just amazing what I've worked with it and only 100 watts ! All over the USA-including W6 & W7 west coast and lots of Caribbean stations too. I inherited the Par from my dad K3VLQ now a SK and just put it up as a temporary antenna-that was a year ago !
This week I noticed the antenna wasn't working properly so headed up to the roof with my trusty MFJ antenna analyzer. After eliminating a bunch of possibilities and a quick call to Dale W4OP (Mr. Par himself actually answers the phone !) It was determined that there could be a problem with the balun. I'm told this is extremely rare and it doesn't surprise me as most of my technical problems fall into the hens tooth category be it radio, audio or computer.
Dale was kind enough to UPS me out a replacement balun at no cost other than just cover the shipping ! He also sent me a couple emails after hours with some other possible fixes to try as well.
Having been self-employed for over 30 years it's so nice to work with a company like Par and Dale who do business the good old fashioned way. I can't say enough positive things about this whole experience.

The OA-50 for SIX
|

Hi NL9222 here ;-)
Don't bother my bad english !
Ordered and received the OA-60 within 5 days.
Communications if needed were fast and answers witthin 1 hour.
Assembling and Installation on the chimny took me 15 minutes, it fits my small lot perfect.
Signals compared to the old homemade dipole are louder by 4 to 8 S-Units measured on a 756 Pro II without preamp.
Had to use preamp 2 with the dipole earlier.
All in all, the qrm i suffered from is gone, there's only the signal and could hear some nice things the first 2 days of use, that is DXCC i did not hear in my 1st 3 years on 6
Once i find a decent Rig for 2 and 70 i will for sure feed it with the other models in the OA series.
73 and cu on 6 meters
Ko, NL9222

BEST LOOPS EVER PRODUCED
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

Second review. The quality and workmanship is superb and the engineering is most likely the best that's ever been done on loop antenna design. Should get an award for on one the BEST AMERICAN MADE PRODUCTS on the market. Considering all the above factors, plus the bargain price, direct contact capability to access the manufacture almost 24/7, independent research on the product if you really need it, and the unbelievable performance ((yes, I have the VUCC 50 MHz award) you should purchase them by the gross, giving them out to to ham club members, new amateur converts to radio and six meters, and even as decorated X-MAS tress (putting new gear under it would be beautiful).
Got six on your radio, get Par. A great band deserves a great performing antenna at a super price.
PS: While I haven't worked Europe yet from the middle of the country, I have worked East and West coast out about 1400 miles, not to mention just about everywhere else!
Have fun. Talk with you soon.
Terry, Let's share antenna pictures! tbgspaceship@yahoo.com
