nice amplifier  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Hello
I contribute a little my share, I tested Acom 1010 which is very very good, I wanted to pass on Acom 1000, and this amplifier is very good, it makes less noise than my computer!!!! Acom 1010 fact much more noise.
As regards operation, that functions very extremely. It is very simple to regulate, it takes 15 seconds to be on the air.

Here what I raised,
50w --- 950w
55w --- 1040w
60w --- 1120w
65w ---1210w
70w--- 1290w
75w-1340w
Me, I it drive have 60/65w, and the power is the same one on all the tapes, I did not test on the 50Mhz.
It is an amplifier which I recommend to 200%
So long on the air

Great piece of gear  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This is my first HF amplifier. After a long research an evaluation period, I decided by ACOM 1000. Although the 2000a was the one I would like to have, that would make me wait at least one more year to buy it. So I decided myself to buy this one, since in terms of power, it almost reaches the legal limit here in CT (1.5Kw for the top class), and actually I can run it 1.2Kw so far, on my 4 element 10 meter yagi.
About performance, well the only drawback I can see so far is the stand by time one has to wait when turn it on (120 seconds). On the other hand after that period of time, it works perfectly. One thing I don’t like to hear when QSOing is the relay change state. There’s nothing wrong with it, is just not… elegant. Well, on the ACOM 1000, that doesn’t happen, even on Full Break in CW, one cannot hear the change state of the relay. That is a BIG plus for me. Another big plus is the linearity of the modulation and signal, when operation digital. By saying this, I must also say that I leave in a 7th floor and don’t have ground connection. I was in the beginning a bit afraid of RFI/TVI, but that was no problem at all, even at full power. By several occasions, I tested it with others, by transmitting with the amp turned on and off. The difference was of course the signal, but the audio was the same, I mean there was no change on the voice tone. If I don’t tell I am using an amplifier, no one notice…
When operating digital, and again, according to others, the signal presents very stable and clean. Made several RTTY and PSK QSOs straight at 1 Kw, and could not notice any power drop. That means the power supply is far enough for the job.
On lower bands, I only used it with 400 Watts output, since I only have a longwire connected to a magnetic ballun, rated for a maximum power of 400W.
One night during a late time 10meter ES, I spent almost 2 hours at 1.2Kw and the temp reached 72 Deg. Celcius, not much I believe…
Yesterday night, I could hear no one on 10 meter… As soon as I started to call CQ, a lot of people answer all over Europe as well some cluster spots were posted… “sometimes one have to do there own propagation hi hi”
Hope to contact you also !!

Fantastic amplifier much easy one to use silent more marks them clean than 1kw out with only 50watt in all the possible protections to test of error, advised to 100%.

Solid Piece of Equipment  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
The Acom 1000 is really a terrific little amp. Very easy to tune, 1000-1200 watts output and very quiet. The LCD screen gives you more operational info than you would ever need.

It has been employed here in contest service since we got it (K8IA/N7RQ) and has had qute a workout and hasnt missed a beat.

Recommended!

just a fantastic amp...  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
i would love to give this amp more than a 5 rating.. but anyway this amp is a pleasure to use. after the 150 second warm up time the amp is nearly ready to use.. just a little bit of load and tune and away you go.. i don,t use any tuners here as the acom 1000 can cope with a swr of 3:1 with ease..so if your reading this and thinking of buying one (like i did)you will NOT be disapointed. just read the other reviews..

Absolute satisfaction  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
What can I say about this state of the art piece of radio equipment? There are so many good reviews that I feel I have nothing to add. But let me say just a few simple comments. I work with it more than six months. I have participated in several contests during this period. Among them there were some very demanding ones, as CQ WW RTTY for example. Lots of hours of continuous working without any complain. Every time I am sitting in my sack beside my ACOM1000 I feel proud and full of confidence. Before I get it I knew that it had a very good reputation, but my cohabitation with it, it is beyond my expectations. What are its hot features?
Absolutely silent (whisper fan, vacuum relays)
Very easy tuning (attenuator in order to tune with full driving power)
Withstand 3:1 SWR transmitting with full power (no external tuner required)
Excellent liquid crystal control monitoring 12 parameters
Finally some words about service. I need it only once. A minor problem resolved at once. People in ACOM are very friendly and really helpful. Simply the best service I have ever experienced in my 30 years amateur life.

Addendum Service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I will have to modify my first experience as described in my review of Dec. 30, 2007. ACOM did respond to the review and helped me to localize and fix the problem, a loose GU74 tube. When the tube was properly put in its socket, the amplifier worked just as fine as described in many reviews.

Next time, I will sit on my hands...

excellent  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
With the need for some xtra punch on top band i replaced my sb221 with this one. Compared to my headkit this is a very silent amp. I am missing the instant power when turning on the amp like the heathkit
So far so good.
Expensive but excellent
