Superb!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Moving up from the Al-572 to the Acom 1000 really made me feel old! The Acom 1000 is a joy to operate and tune. I'm still a rookie with this amp but the TRI load/Tune microprocessor does a superb job of matching the load to the tube. It loafs at 950 watts. These new manual tune amps may not be the top of the line with all these auto-bandswitching 1kw+ but is is forgiving and rugged which is exactly what I needed. The folks at Array Solutions are first class in customer support as well. I will write another after 3 or 4 months but today it is tops.

A Remarkable Piece Of Hardware  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I bought the Acom 1000 as add-on amplification for my Elecraft K3. Although it is a fully manual tune amp, it can be tuned up easily in less than 30 seconds after a band change once you get the hang of it so not really a problem, even for contesters. It is a very quiet running amp compared to other amps I've used in the past. I have noticed, however, that QSK operation is not quite as noise-free as I would have liked. The QSK relay seems like it is increasing in mechanical noise with more and more use. I'll definitely be keeping an ear on that. I love the fault protection that the amp has, I've managed to trip the protection circuit a couple of times due to antenna non-resonance issues. When the amp is used with antennas that have an SWR range of 3:1 or less, it's a no-brainer. I use a Palstar AT2K tuner for the antennas that need the extra "help" and although I can match them to an acceptable SWR, the tuner is being asked to absorb too much of the mismatch so I'm not very surprised that I've fault-tripped the amp on occasion. This is not an inexpensive amp but I think when you consider the actual "bang for the buck" that you get, it's a tough deal to beat. The only reason I'm not giving it a "5" right now is because of the QSK relay noise - we'll see if it gets worse with additional use. Perhaps this is a known issue that I'm simply not aware of?

A+ all the way...  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have had my ACOM 1000 for some time now and all I can say is "WOW". You can't hurt this thing. Too many idiot proof design blocks in this amp. Talk about easy to use. I run it periodically from 160 to 6 and never a problem in getting full power out (if I want). Runs extremely quiet.

I had one delivered that the delivery service damaged. Sent it back, got a new one, no problem.

I love this amp and for the price, you can't beat it. The beauty of the design, the design features, well, you will have to read an ARRL review on it or pull it up on line. Too many to list here.

The most easy to use, easy to understand, easy to see the parameters without menus, multiple switches, etc. You won't go wrong with this amplifier!! Nothing comes close in this price range.

Praise, No Complaints  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have two 1000's and love them both. But something happened to one of them and for some reason I couldn't get any output on 6M. It worked fine on all the other bands. I sent an e-mail to Acom, they replied that with such an unusual problem I should have it serviced. So I drove it to their facility, and got immediate attention. Their service tech tested it right in front of me using the same transceiver and it worked flawlessly. I was flummoxed (old-fashioned word meaning "stupefied")! So I took it home and very carefully went through my exciter's 6M settings and replaced the coax connecting them both. The 1000 worked fine for me, too!
From that, I learned that if I have a problem, Acom won't brush me off, they'll be sensitive to me, their customer, and I'll get satisfaction. I also learned not to panic when something unexpected happens!

Excellent amp  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I had recent experience using ACOM 1000s on the DXpedition at VK9LA. They were very reliable. This amp is very quick and easy to tune with no problem matching to the temporary antennas we used. They run very quietly, a big plus in a room with more than one operating station.

I would recommend this amp to anyone.

terrible  Time owned: more than 12 months
I very disappointed in my Acom 1000.
I bought an Acom 1000 about 2 years ago as a back - up amplifier because I als have a superb Alpha 99 ( THIS IS THE BEST AMP EVER !!!!).
ANyway , the Acom 1000 was eldom used here. Recently I connected it to my old FT101 ZD Yaesu , it it worked quite ok. But after some time now , switching on the amp gave the following result: it didn't fire up again and always switched to protectionmode and gave following indications BNFO2 en PN07 ..... I don't realy know what that means....
Sending an email to Acom they didn't tell me much ...... this service is very poor .
Never an Acom again , that's for sure !
I will have a friend going to fix it in a few days.
I ordered a new 3CX800A tube to replace the probably broken in this lousy Acom 1000.
When it is fixed I'm thinking about selling it for a low price ..... I don't want to sell something that is broken , but I don't feel like keeping it anyway.

Amp for life  Time owned: more than 12 months
I just received my second Acom 1000 this week. I had a few of these over the years and operated from some remote and harsh environments with an Acom.
These amps are tough and foolproof.
Will at Acom takes great care of his customers, and always walks the extra mile.
Buy an Acom. You will NOT be disappointed.
