Great Service IC 730
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
Purchased an Icom 730 and decided to have it aligned and serviced by Scott.
THE RESULTS: Great service and very reasonable on charges. Was great at communicating and letting me know about what needed to be done.
I would recommend Scott to anyone. The service is so reasonable, that you can't try to fix it yourself. Be sure to give him a try if you have Icom or Kenwood needing repairs or alignment. Check out the web site.

Great repair/service
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months

Sent an Icom 735 to Scott in August 2011, got it back in FB condition at a reasonable price. Communications before and during the job was excellent (we went back and forth a few times as I contemplated whether to fix, or sell radio as a project). His responses were quick and insightful. Thanks Malcom!

Great help!

A year or so ago, i contacted scott in regards to 2 problems in my icom 475H radio. Scott offered some trouble shooting tips and things to check for. After checking those tips, he was right on! Thank you Scott!
I am only dissapointed to find out now that for us canadian customers, we have been locked out for sending our units in for repair due to a bad experience with a canadian transaction.
I do hope that scott can still help us out troubleshoot our rigs and keep them rocking strong.

Sent a low pass filter board from an Icom IC2KL to Malcolm to rebuild. He did an outstanding job and it works 100%. Very reasonable price and turn around time was quick! The work was professional and looks exactly like factory new. Highly recommended.

Great Service
|
Time owned: 6 to 12 months
|
I recently had two ICOM R-7000 and two ICOM R-70 refurbed and aligned by Scott. All radios were serviced and shipped in a timely and cost effective manner. In checking the alignment, I found all units within ICOM specs and very accurate when compared to my Watkins-Johnson and Racal units.
Scott provides a great service and is highly recommended.

I recently sent Scott a non working optical encoder from an otherwise working IC-735. Being a tech myself I had already repaired all other problems ( and there were several ) but I was stuck on the encoder as Icom no longer supports them and parts to repair are extremely difficult to obtain. I sent the encoder to Scott and in a couple of weeks it was working like new. Price was quite reasonable at around $60. including postage.
Kudos to MTS.
Thanks and 73,

Scott is a true genius on Icom 751's. I think he knows what every component does and what happens when it changes value or fails.
I had restored a $100 "junker parts unit" Icom 751A to operating status. I was proud. I raised it from the grave and could make QSOs, but it had some remaining nagging problems that just stumped me including an intermittent one.
Scott fixed everything and also installed a non volatile RAM board so I could stop sweating about whether my Li battery would fail and make the set inop. The final price was very reasonable, which is because Scott is honest and able to make very fast diagnosis and repairs. His reviews speak for themselves. I am done looking for Icom geniuses. I've found one. His name is Scott Malcom, owner of MTS.

Fantastic work; great to deal with!

I ran into some issues with an Icom 740 that I sent to Scott at MTS to diagnose and fix. Fantastic work at a reasonable price. Quick turnaround and kept me informed of the progress along the way. I've also found him an invaluable resource regarding technical questions on Icom products.
I can't say enough good things about my dealings with Scott and the service he provides. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks,
Ron, W1RPR

I have a 2 year old Icom HF transceiver that went dead on receive in September 2010.
Scott had it repaired and returned in a couple of weeks at a very fair price.
