Awesome amp!
Time owned: more than 12 months
I'll begin by stating that these Amps are no longer in production. Too bad, mine is a great amp! This amp listed for 3,500 bux back in November of 1988. I paid 1,200 for a used one when it was only 9 months old! It was like new and still is after all those years. Some of its features include Automatic Lock Out (ALO), which prevents excessive tube dissipation, full or semi-QSK break-in on CW, themostatically controlled fan (2 speeds), step-start inrush protection, 10-meter band operation, and the NT stands for "no-tune" -- you just change bands and transmit! This amp uses THREE of the 3CX800A7 ceramic tubes-'nuff said!!
The front panel has 2 very large meters for plate current and one for grid current/plate voltage. Also on front is on/off switch, standby/xmit switch, ready light, hi/lo manual fan switch, band selector, QSK on/off switch, and a "fine tune" knob for fine adjustment of output. This amp that I have used on all modes, including RTTY without a single problem. Teamed up with my TH7DX it has been a real pile-up buster! I know of other hams who own Amp Supply amps, and all are happy with them. If you are lucky enough to find one, better not let it get away.
