Works better than many newer decoders  Time owned: more than 12 months
Yep, I can echo what others have said. I had two of these, sold them, and lived to regret it. As code readers go this is one of the best. It certainly helped when my code was rusty and I was working to improve. Highly recommended if you can find one.

Code Reader, exceptional!  Time owned: more than 12 months
A code reader that works and is completely possible to tune. Works with bad c.w. and weak signals. Old timer but goody. With todays receivers and filters this thing boogie's! Impossible to find anymore but if you do grab on to it.

Great vintage code reader!  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
I picked this Kantronics up as an ebay special. After a quick dusting and simple connection I found this 'vintage' Kantronics Field Day 2 to be remarkably accurate....even with weak CW signals. Its nice to see a code reader that actually works. Nice big LED letters scroll across a big bright window....Wonderful!

just works!  Time owned: months
A CW reader done right!
It has a audio in and out jack, so you can continue to use your speaker. For old technology, it does a very good job of copying code. Nice BRIGHT scrolling LED's, handsome looking cabinet, also has a built in station clock!!
Must be close to 20 years old, but I'd buy one today if it was offered. Just think...It would probably copy PSK31 if it was a current product.
The Kantronics copies RTTY as well.
Only complaint.. The clock does not have battery backup, and the selection of various modes is a bit ambiguous.
Grab one if you can find it! (VERY rare!!)
