I agree with the previous review. The TP-3200 is simple but also has plenty of features. I have had a couple of these in service for over 10 years with no problem. I would recommend these for anyone wanting a repeater who wants dependability, not how many courtesy tone bleeps you can make or how long or cheezy you can make your voice ID! Great controller all the way around. With many commercial and public safety repeaters going off the air and moving to trunked services, you may start seeing these auctioned off with equipment on the used market.

Good Controller

I was fed up with certain ham repeater controllers; their poor documentation, designer assumptions of user "needs" and hobby-grade performance. For my situation, I needed reliable controllers for converted Mitrek mobile repeaters serving Amateur (and Public Safety) needs. No Problem converting the Mitreks to full duplex, without head, mike and speaker. The next step was interface the TP-3200s and set their levels. Easy-to-follow wiring. Easy to set up via PC running Procomm (provided with the TP-3200) or other modem/comm program. I liked the multiple CTCSS/DTSS capability; the DTMF mute; the timing adjustments. A good, conservative repeater panel for Amateur (or Public Safety) apps. My two portable repeaters and their TP-3200s have worked when called on since 1995.
