Does what it says On the Box

I went for one of these because the reports on them are good both on EHam and other forums.
And another point which is a plus to most of us these days is the price its a lot cheaper than Yaesu's version which is somewhat over priced.
Its easy to set up, paper work is very helpful and guides you through step by step works with all the programs I have used with it and fits very nice inside the Yaesu controller no messy box out side.
Very much like the auto switch to slow speed when it comes to the end of the rotation great for reducing the strain on rotator and large antenna systems.
If your after a computer controlled Rotor this is the one to get :)

3 years plus and working well

This is great little board, it is easy to install and set up with the comprehensive supplied instructions. I use the card with my Yaesu G-1000DXA and as I use the station remotely from time to time I of course depend on the accuracy this board. It is great value for money when you consider the cost of the OEM board which is 500 dollars. Purchase one today and support the smaller Amateur Radio suppliers and keep them in business.

Problem discovered
|
Time owned: 3 to 6 months
|
I was initially very happy with ease of installation and calibration and use of the card.
I discovered a few months later that when I turn the rotor to the overlap area stop (265 d) with software, the manual paddle no longer works. I have to either turn it away from the stop using the computer, or turn the controller off, then back on to use the paddle.
If I turn it to the same stop using the paddle, I can turn it away from that heading using the paddle. A note to Idiom elicited the response that they weren't aware of the problem. A follow-up to Idiom asking if they thought it was a problem with the card, calibration error, or the Yaesu box itself elicited the response 'It's a feature'. Not what I wanted to hear from a responsible vendor.

Great product

This is a great product. The instructions are extremely well written (I'm a college professor). I had the card installed and calibrated in 15 minutes. The instructions remind me of the old Bell System Practices... "Place the meter on the table, face up..." in terms of anticipating possible points of confusion. I'm using it with the Ham Radio Deluxe: HRD Satellite Tracking application, in conjunction with HRD Rotator application. I'm using SatPC32 for controlling my Yaesu FT736R. With these three (3) applications running, my transmit and receive frequencies are automatically adjusted for Doppler, and my DXA-800 tracks the azimuth of the satellite.

4 Years; still flawless!!

This is a follow-up to my September 15, 2005 post.
The Idiom Press board in my Yaesu G-800DXA has been flawless!
The board is controlled by the rotator control capabilities of Ham Radio Deluxe. Regardless if using HRD Version 4 or HRD Suite Version 5, the solution is seamless and precise.
I highly recommend the Idiom Press board! It has proven to be a very worthwhile and reasonably priced alternative to the Yaesu OEM card.

Got my third Idiom Press card in today, the first one for Yaesu DXA series. The others are Hy-Gain. What a joy this one is! Installed and calibrated in just a bit under 30 minutes.

Great product and a good buy

Purchased this card for a new antenna install with new rotor. But I guess my logging program had something to do with it also Logic8.
It was a snap to install and callibrate with very good instructions it would be hard to go wrong with this interface. I priced the Yaesu model first, that was well beyond my means for a controller. I'm glad I came across this fine unit.

I've had mine for a few months now..Controls a DXA-1000 thru TRX Manager/Logic 8..Work's flawlessly..I can double-click on a spot in the Web Cluster in TRX Mgr (set's my 746 Pro's freq. & DXCC Window's call window in TRX Mgr)..and then click the arrow in the DXCC window (TRX Mgr)..long or short path..& off the rotator goes! Using it thru a USB port...

Excellent support

The excellence of this product's function is exceeded only the excellence of it's support. When I encountered a problem getting the card to work correctly, Rob stepped me through a diagnosis, explained things thoroughly via emails, re-checked the card after I returned it to him, and even sent me a piece of his diagnostic equipment to check my COM port. After that last step, the problem was identified and the card now works like a champ. These folks deserve your support if you're in the market for a DXA control. A bargain with unbeatable customer support-what's not to like?
