KEEPER for sure  Time owned: more than 12 months
I purchased two THPs HL1Ks and really liked the amplifier, they are pretty close to the legal vk maximum of 400W. I changed the tubes to 4cx350A over twelve months ago and found that while the output was up slightly, drive lowered and the amp was less critical on tuning. A great amplifier that will not leave the shack, driven by a FT990 Yaesu.

Solid Desktop Amp  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This little amplifier is a solid performing desktop unit. It is extremely solidly built (unlike some of the more recent desktop units in the 500 watt range). It is easy to tune and very rugged and forgiving. Mine has been checked out by a very good amplifier technician and he performed a few minor modifications that have made it a super performer.

Relatively inexpensive tubes will be in production for years to come. Amp runs cool even under heavy duty cycles and audio reports are excellent.

This amp fits well into my desktop setup. It is very small and compact for it's capabilities and does not dominate my desktop space like other "desktop" amplifiers have. It is an aesthetically pleasing piece of equipment that sits proudly next to the 756Pro that is driving it.

This amp seems to be relatively hard to find. I have heard THP is considering entering the US market again and if they do I hope they will introduce another line of HF amps that will perform as solidly and efficiently as this amp does. It is a great performer that will be on my desktop for a long time.

Excellent AMP  Time owned: more than 12 months
Its about 40 lbs, uses a pair 4CX150s
for comfortable 500w output! You can
use more recent 4CX250Bs!
Built like a little "tank" !
Easy to tune up - Low profile front
panel - it is deep!
Very nice little amp that I am NOT
going to sell ! Usually sell used for
500 to 700 USD. Not easy to find.
