Cheap! compact! fun!
|
Time owned: months
|
Well made. supercompact, and it uses plain ole AA batteries. It has relative low power, and will hit the local repeater but not distance machines.
I did however hit a repeater 30 miles away standing on top of an office building.
It has great audio.
The only downside is the "flip" telescoping antenna. but other than that, it is a grea little radio, just don't expect too much from the 1/3W that it will put out on rechargable batteries.

Great radio for the money
|
Time owned: 3 to 6 months
|
This radio was purchased for in the city repeater use
and short range simplex. Powered by three AA cells,
has charger circuit for ni-cads. Short, easily understood instructions. Easy to program. Has 20 memory channels. Good range for a .6 watt output.
Audio quality reported to be good both transmitting and receiving. Short flip-up telescoping antenna could be improved, but still does the job well. Has
double jacks for plug-in mike/speaker. This radio has better range and more versatility than would be expected for a unit in its size and price range.
