Great, Durable  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Well I am use to the HT 1000 but Motorola did good on this one. I would say its good. Only problem I had was the screw in the back of the unit where the battery goes had to be tightened more to fit the battery in place. And one thing I dont like is the ending of recieving a transmission it sounds like a plain police scanner. More for the quiet ending squelch then the click noise. Over all its good for the price. Great reception and TX.

GP68 VHF HT Great Radio for Ham and Public Safety  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
I was looking for a rugged 5 watt, MIL Standard HT that would cover both public safety and ham bands with programmable keypad. I purchased my Motorola GP68 used for $200. Average internet price about $250. Unit programs from front keypad, 136-174mhz (UHF also available),20 channels and scans. Great audio on TX & RX. The 1200mah, 7.5v battery, with drop in fast charger, provides 3-5 days of use. Can program standard offset + or -, simplex, or manual TX/RX freq. with all encode/decode of CTCSS, DPL. Great radio for the price.
