Reviews Summary for KO6YD Designs Screwdriver Antenna Memory
Reviews: 3 Average rating: 4.7/5 MSRP: $149.95 + 6.00 S/H
Description: The Screwdriver Antenna Memory (SAM) is designed as an addition to the class of mobile HF antennas referred to as the "screwdriver" antenna.
The tuning of this antenna (after initial setup) is usually done visually by holding the motor switch while watching the antenna followed by fine tuning by SWR or "ear". Most users put a strip of tape or use some other method to "mark" the "general" location for each band. The SAM will replace these visual markers with an electronic one.

The SAM replaces the "control panel" which you currently use to tune the antenna. It contains a VFO style tuning knob as well as a push button. The new control panel also contains a dual digit display to give the operator visual feedback as to the current SAM setting or memory channel. The size of the SAM box is (2"H x 4"W x 4"D)

The unique feature of the SAM is the VFO style tuning knob used to 'fine tune' the antenna. The knob is also used to select the memory presets
Product is in production.

Excellent service!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I purchased a used KO6YD SAM controller and had it all set to go when a problem arose. Knowing that these controllers have been out of production for many years, I decided to see if I could track down KO6YD himself for any suggestions he may have.

I was successful in tracking down Dane and he went above the call of duty and without hesitation had me return the unit so he could see what was wrong. A few days later the controller was fixed and returned to me at no cost! Even though these controllers are no longer available, if you ever come across one, you will not be disappointed with its operation.

Thanks Dane for a great product and service beyond compare!

Great Addition!!  Time owned: more than 12 months
Great addition to my Superhopper Antenna. When in memory mode the unit stops the antenna at any one of 16 memory positions that you have preprogrammed. This is a great asset to keeping your eyes on the road. Normally that's all you need, but if you want to fine tune the SWR (like when running on 75 meters) just place it into JOG mode and bump the tune one notch at a time until you get to that 1 to 1 match.

Easy to install and use!  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I have been using SAM with sidekick for 10 months. No trouble, and it is easy to install and use.
Sometimes, I have reset this, with unknown reasons.
