Extremely High Quality!
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months

Why anyone would choose to purchase a set of paddles from a commercial production company when one can have a set of this quality, hand-made by a skilled craftsman and fellow operator, at a reasonable price, is beyond me.
Jerry's paddles are awesome. I have the P-1 and the finish is wonderful. The wood adds a nice warmth to my shack. I intend to purchase a P2jr for portable use.
Amazing workmanship and Jerry is wonderful to work with. Get one of his paddles, you wont be sorry!

Excellent Product

One word for the P2jr...wow. Excellent communication with Jerry and he's one heck of a nice guy. Excellent turn-around time on the order. Excellent craftsmanship. Just a wonderful paddle to operate. No adjustments necessary and was ready to operate right out of the box for me. I have nothing negative to say about this product at all. If you own a QRP or small rig and you want a paddle easily portable, please go with this model. I haven't tried his larger models but plan on buying one for use with my FT-101.

These paddles are truly second to none.

Time owned: 6 to 12 months

I now own 3. The P2, P4 and P2jr. The workmanship is astonishing. When I order one of these I wait the two days or so to get it with the anticipation of a child waiting for Santa Claus. I plan to own the entire set. Do I need them all. Of course not. But besides being very well made, functionally flawless, and easy to adjust and use, they are simply beautiful and make a great show piece anywhere in the house or shack. Whether you're new to CW or an old fist, you owe to yourself to own one or more of these paddles. Great job Jerry.

I have a P-2
|
Time owned: 6 to 12 months
|
I don´t like to use magnetic paddles so I looked around for spring loaded ones and decided on buying from K8RA. I got my P-2 paddles,
withe rosewood fingerpeces, in january, so I have had about 7 months to compare them to what I had used before.
First thing is they are heavy and won´t move on the table. I like that..
Second is that they are easy to adjust and last but not least they are very pleasant to use.
Even my wife comments on how well they look on my operating table.

Very Excellent P-4
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
After using bottom-to-bottom J-38s mounted on a lead base that I made decades ago, I decided to get one of Jerry's paddles ... the heavy P4 with rosewood and a cable.
It works great and I'm glad I make this selection. There's just no comparison with what I had before. Keying is solid and precise. The weight is just right, and the rosewood finger pieces really dress up the station.
You can see how it looks beside my Elecraft K2 at http://wilcoxengineering.com/amateur-radio/elecraft-k2 (the photo's near the bottom).

Unbeliveable Paddle
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
|
About a year ago I bought one of Jerry's P-2jr paddle sets to use on my portable QRP station. I used it every time I took my gear out into the field and I have to say, Jerry's workmanship is astounding and his P-2jr really makes portable CW a very pleasant experience. I bagged K5D on three bands using QRP CW and a multi-band dipole at 15 feet at the apex! After playing with W4NL's P-3, I am going to procure a P-6 for the shack, since I really like a single lever paddle set. Great work, Jerry! Thanks! de K7SZ

Great Paddle
|
Time owned: 3 to 6 months
|
This review is for the P-4 paddle that I’ve owned for five months now. It's a beefy man-sized key, weighing in at 5 pounds and sporting 3/16" contacts and large finger pieces. The paddle is super smooth, solid and a joy to operate. Instantly, I preferred this over the Bencher I had been using for years, which frankly now felt mushy and toy-like.
The spacing and tension is easy to adjust, but I like a light touch and even at their softest setting the tension was still too stiff. I simply shortened the springs by cutting off 1/16'' or so of each spring, problem solved and took less than two minutes. The only negative I can say is that they are noisier than I was used to, but like I said, it's a man-sized paddle.
During the order process I was trying to decide which optional wood finger pieces to get (oak or rosewood) and Jerry said "Oh heck, don't worry, I'll just send you both", so I received 2 pairs of wood plus the clear ones for a ridiculously low price. Jerry is great to deal with and subscribes to the if you’re not happy he's not happy theory!

Super Paddle

Time owned: 0 to 3 months

I needed a small key to add to my Qrp station, and I recently purchased the P-2Jr paddle from K8RA and I'm extremely happy. Jerry is a true craftsman and the paddle is just outstanding. I look forward to many contacts with it and you won't ever go wrong dealing with Jerry, your satisfaction is important to him and he will not only sell you a top product but he totally stands behind it, you can't ask for much better then that. Highly recommended. 73 Jim N0XE

Highly Recommended

In the past 2 weeks, I received one of Jerry's P2 Iambic keyer paddles and would like have my call added to his long list of very satisfied customers!
This paddle is everything good that all the other reviews have already said about it. It's solid as a rock; very easy to adjust and smooth as silk to use. On top of all that, the workmanship and materials are top notch.
With his 45 day, no questions asked return policy you CAN'T go wrong by ordering one. But, honestly, I can't imagine ever returning one either.

Excellent paddle at a great price
|
Time owned: 3 to 6 months
|
I recently purchased a P-4 Iambic paddle from Jerry a couple of months ago. Packing was excellent and delivery very quick. I have been using this paddle for a while now and can honestly say that this is now the best paddle I have ever owned or used. Craftsmanship is outstanding. The finish looks great. Adjustments and settings are easy to make. What more could you ask for.
Operation is very smooth and precise. The key has an extra heavy base which is perfect for a heavy hitter like myself. I purchased the optional Rosewood finger pieces which look great with this paddle.
Working with Jerry was a real pleasure. Excellent service and a very nice person. When I am ready to make another paddle purchase it will definitely be another K8RA Paddle.
Thanks again Jerry for an outstanding paddle at a great price.
