AXS 160 shortened dipole
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months
|
I just installed a B & W AXS 160 sortened dipole.
It uses a loading coil at the 30 meter length that
also doubles as the 160 meter loading coil. The band width on 30 meter is the whole band below 1.5
to 1 SWR. On 160 mters I tuned the dipole for 1850
khz. and the bandwidth under 2 to 1 SWR is about
35 khz. Which is not to bad for a 95 foot long 160 meter dipole. The antenna was very easy to build and tune to resonance. The instructions were
very good. It did everything B & W said it would.
If I ever add a low power amp it is rated for 1000
watts pep. It is very nice to see that there are
still some very reputable manufacturers out there
yet. And by the way the maerials used in it were first class. Im one happy antenna owner.
