I have been using Turbolog ever since it was first written by G3WGV and back then I used it to control Packet Cluster, etc., but now I use it as a simple logging programme. I was QRT for some years and recently got going again and purchased an FT-1000 Field and the latest TL version. Despite my efforts I have not, so far, managed to get Turbolog to "talk" to the Field and this has produced some problems with logging (the prog is expecting a Tcvr so I have to manually log the frequency for each Q). However, when I sort this problem I'm sure it will be fine - I'd then give it 5/5.
Turbolog does everything I want from a logging programme and I'm really looking forward to TL4 for Windows.

Turbolog is a very powerful logging program. Written by a DXer for DXers it does most everything one needs. However, it has not really evolved over the years and, as a DOS program it needs a real overhaul. A Windows version is being developed but it remains to be seen if this will be able to capitalise on the nice "look and feel" of the DOS Turbolog.

TurboLog is a full scale station management / logg

TurboLog is not just a powerful logging program but also serves almost all the peripherals in the
modern ham shack, i.e.:
- packet radio
- CAT computer aided transceiving, automatic frequency and mode logging
- automatic antenna switching with the band in operation
- local and remote allerting, acoustically or via UHF/VHF transceiver
- digital multimode controlers for RTTY, AMTOR, PACTOR, ...
- digital voice processing
- built in CW keyer, keyboard operated
- full support of the Callbook (flying horse) CD from within the logging process
There is full support for the discerning DXer by extensive DXCC features. DXCC records are
tracked band by band, mode by mode and year on year. The same applies for IOTA and
other award activities.
TurboLog also deals with contest and DXpedition needs. There are logging rate meters, dupe
checking and other facilities available.
The database operations are comprehensive and powerful with respect to all interesting QSO parameters such as QSL managers, locators, QSL status, bands, modes, etc, etc.
The program is easy to use though. You just fill it in like a paper log, one QSO to a line.
Of course there are various import and export facilities for other logs and log record formats.
There are about 60 transceivers from all major manufacturers available from the CAT menu.
TurboLog is fully compliant with Y2K and runs on all major platform systems such as:
- DOS
- WINDOWS 3.xx, 95 and 98
- LINUX .
A handbook of 220 pages is provided along with online help.
