Good Radio  Time owned: more than 12 months
It's a good radio but has a few flaws.. those flaws are...
1. PTT switch gets dirty so it makes scratchy sounds on xmit.
2. BNC can come loose pretty easily
3. Display can become erratic (have to take whole unit apart and clean as the display only lays in there no real connector to speak of.
4. Buttons can become hard to push on some units.
5. Tone board is an option and hard to come by so beware if you are getting one on ebay.
Other then that it's a rugged and good radio.

Great!  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have had 2-3 of them.If you compeer to other handheld 2 meter radios, this is just great. You can drop it in the roof and it still works.

The only thing that you should lookout for is to have high SWR or bad connection to the antenna. The final amp. doesn't like it at all =)

Fairly Good Radio  Time owned: more than 12 months
Small, tough, and lightweight. Easy to program and use. Fairly good transceiver.

Mine had display problems and also the touch-tone pad went out. Would have been better if it had more than 10 memories.

Great radio  Time owned: more than 12 months
This was my first new 2m radio when I passed by class 'b' back in 1986. Very impressive transceiver with great RX sensitivity compared to my FT290 Mk1 - difference between hearing a station and not. Die cast radio body with splashproof rubber inserts behind knobs/buttons etc. Smallest 2m radio of its time, made the ICOM 2e look very old fashioned. Wide band receive from 140-174 (ish) - radio also used by police services etc in UK, reprogrammable. Selling on ebay for less than 50 with accessories making it great value. Having said that, it's amazing that new VX150s are selling for just over 100 new these days!
