SUPER!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I first did business with W&W a few years ago. Always pleased. I recently bought the Universal Rapid Charger and 1800 battery for my Kenwood TH-F6. W&W is running a special (see QST Magazine) and I got charger and hi-capacity battery for less than $100 (including shipping). Great deal! Battery recharges in about 1 - 1.5 hours. Battery and charger perform flawlessly. The Universal Charger can be used with about any HT (you just buy the matching "cup" for your particular need). And, the charger can be used as an HT stand - while operating in the shack (with external antenna). You can't beat this special & you can't beat their products. I have never been anything but happy with W&W!

Excellent  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I have a UC-1 and a few Lithium Ion batteries for a Kenwood TH-F6A, and the system works nicely.

The charger uses custom charging cups so it can be used for any number of HT brands and models. The price is very reasonable compared to manufacturer models from 10 years ago, I believe.

It also stays put. Unlike the new Yaesu charger, VAC-370B, where you can pick up your charger by lifting your VX-170 since the fit is so tight, the WW charger works with a nice spring loaded mechanism that's not going to tear the chrager apart like the Yaesu will someday due to its absurd friction fit.

WW was very glad to OFFER me the package deal even though I found out a few weeks after the offer theoretically expired.

That is RARE in my amateur radio experience.

Equipment seems fine, but they don't tell you...  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I purchased a UC-1 universal charger and new NiMH pack for my TH-D7a recently. No complaints about the battery performance. I do find it rather annoying, however, that they don't mention their replacement packs don't come with belt clips compatible with the originals. So now I need to place another order for a belt clip - which, at $10.00, must be made of gold.

Back in 1993, I bought a battery from these guys for my Alinco DJ-580. I used it all the time and it worked great. In 1995, I put the radio, and the rest of my ham gear in the closet for 10 years. I'm just getting back into the hobby and I can't believe it, this battery still works and holds a charge. These guys make a heck of a battery.

Professional  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have been using W&W Assc products for several years and am pleased. They seem to only use quality cells such as Sanyo. I own their Mastercharger one and Universal charger UC-1 and am Happy. I bought two of their 1800 mAh NiMh packs for my TH-F6a and they continue to work great. It seems W&W does NOT attempt to use "differant" battery capacity rating techniques such as Batteries America. In fairness, I must say many of the products Batteries America offers are indeed good (especially at Dayton Hamvention where you can eyeball the items and ask SPECIFIC & DIRECT questions). However it seems "some" of their (BA) handy talkie packs are questionable. Like BA, your better deals from W&W are at Hamfests (Dayton).

Pretty Good  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
Purchased the Universal Charger UC-1, and a corresponding cup and a 1450 Mah battery for my Kenwood TH-G71 at the Dayton Hamfest.

The charger has been working well with my stock Kenwood 600 mAh NiCad battery. I am experiencing much longer service cycles compared to the wall wart that came with the radio.

The new battery did not give me as long a service cycle my Kenwood stock battery. There were no instructions that I should leave the battery in the charger a long time after charging was complete on the initial charges and my lack of knowledge about this may be to blame. The instructions did say that several cycles would be needed to achieve full capacity so I charged the battery several times without improvement.

I called them and described the problem, speaking to a lady that was not able to troubleshoot but did give me a return number.

I returned the battery to the company with a detailed explanation and my contact information asking for them to examine the battery and determine if it was user error or defective and to send me a similar replacement or a 1100 mAh battery if the larger capacity were not available.

I heard nothing for several weeks. I called and the lady in the office had no knowledge of the returned. She indicated she would talk to them in the back and call me.

I called back a week later and she still had not found the battery I had returned. I knew it was there because I had verified delivery via USPS. She said she would send me a new battery that day and did, the 1100 Mah battery. I assume that none of the larger capacity batteries were available since I gave her that part number.

I think the charger is working well and I have not charged the new battery enough times yet to determine if is okay but the new battery did include instructions to leave it on the charger even after charge complete was indicated to gain full capacity. I have done this so I do not expect a problem.

I think there products are great but their customer service needs improvement since I obtained the return number and sent a detailed explanation and still had to follow-up.

Very pleased  Time owned: more than 12 months
Although I have never used their batteries, I have used their rapid chargers for many years. They work great! I've never had a problem with one and the price is right.

EXCELLENT PRODUCTS  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have been using W & W Associates/Battery Tech products for years and have NEVER personally had any problems with any of their rapid chargers, and battery packs. They are an excellent company to deal with and stand behind their products 100 percent. I do know of an instance where one of my friends had a W & W battery that for whatever reason, would not hold a charge. The battery was returned to W & W and after verifying this problem, they replaced his battery with a brand new one, no questions asked!! They advertise every month in QST and have both a web site and 800 number. If you need any after market batteries, rapid chargers, cellular phone adapters, etc. I highly recommend you contact them. They give excellent service and are a very easy company to deal with. 73's/Larry

Reliable  Time owned: more than 12 months
Good folks to deal with, reliable product. Made my IC-V8 a much more useable rig. Also purchased a replacement battery for my Kenwood police HT. You won't go wrong with these folks.

The incredible shrinking VX2R!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I've bought numerous battery packs from W&W over the years with fantastic satisfaction. BUT . . . The W&W 3.7V 1,100ma Lithium Ion packs for the new VX2R are too big. I purchased two at Dayton and tried to use them after getting home. Placed next to the Yaesu stock Lithium Ion pack they are visibly larger in length, width and thickness.

I visited the shop in Hicksville (800 S. Broadway, Hickville, NY). The manager was skeptical and tried a half dozen she brought from the back room. None fit! Some were even larger and slightly irregular in shape. She stated there were new components planned to fix the size issue. Interestingly, she stated that the radio may have been made smaller since they originally measured it for size. Yikes! The little beastie shrunk causing the batteries to become too big.

Thanks to W&W for the incredible shrinking HT theory. More entertaining than "We goofed . . . sorry". A refund was cheerfully provided. When ordering ask if the ones you will get are the new improved (and correct) size.
