Solid Radio, No Problems

Great little dual band radio.
Had one when they were sold off and was perfect did all i wanted from a dual band HH. lost it a few years later, but recently re-acauired one as was so impressed with it.
Also have the booster for it which is brilliant, gives you external Power Supply and 35W on 70cms and 50W on 2m through an external antenna.
Most of the features are within a scrollable menu so the manual is useful as a guide.
if you can get one of these 2nd hand + the booster (which are pretty rare now) then hold on to it, expect to pay about £65-70 for the HH and the same again for the booster if both in Good Condition

I bought one of these when they first came out a few years ago. It was better than anything else that small at the time, and towers over presently made duds like the Yaesu VX-1. I never had a problem with it, and it was intermod free at my home, something a lot of scanners and HT's can't manage. I kind of wish hadn't traded it in a year or so ago. It operates a little differently than other manufacturer's HT's do, so you will need to read the manual, and unlearn Icom/Kenwood/Yaesu.

Dual band tx & wide rx

2m and 70cms tx-rx. 1watt high and 300mW low power.CTCSS encode.1750hz Tone burst.Wideband rx 100mhz to 1ghz AM/FM. 200 Memories. Cross band operation. Lots of accessories.
These radios are not made anymore so you can only get them second hand. I bought one of the last on sale and it performs fine. The radio can go out of lock in certain areas of the wide rx but it is as solid as a rock in the 2m and 70cm bands. If possible buy one with the optional CPB510 50 watt booster. The receiver can get overloaded by strong local signals when connected to a base antenna but I have had no such problems when used mobile or portable.This handheld is an easy match for the competition and considering the new price and spec is probably a better option.
