Good radio for the $$  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
If you enjoy the Ranger 2950 this radio is for you. The radio has the same layout & operating procedure as the 2950 series. I've been using this radio for a few months as a Base station and I still haven't really decided how well it performs, I have nothing else to judge it to. I like the looks and functions of the radio, but the receive may be lacking or my homebrew antenna isn't as good as I hoped. If your into surface mount components this radio is for you, otherwise user repair may be difficult. I will be looking for a service man to better update my review on this transceiver.

BTW. I've made about half a dozen contacts on a 3 element beam. The radio has an output of 25wpep ssb, 8w on cw,am,& fm. Tuning steps down to 100hz.
