Time owned: more than 12 months

Unit definitely not recommended. I have owned this unit approximately 2.5 years and have used it in a variety of locations. In doing so, I have encountered the following problems:
- Poor ergonomics: It is virtually impossible to handle to unit without inadvertently activating a control.
- Poor sensitivity: I own several scanners and Ham HTs. This unit has by far the lowest weather band sensitivity.
- Unreliable weather alert: Even in areas with relatively strong NWS signal strength, this unit does not reliably activate during either real-world warnings or the weekly test.
- Poor battery life: A set of batteries typically lasts less than 24 hrs.
