Description: The W4RT Electronics One FAST Charger (OFC) was developed for the W4RT FT-817 One Plug Power (OPP) . The One FAST Charger charges the 1800 mAh OPP in two hours and is small (4"x2.8"x2.3"), lightweight (about 6 oz), and versatile. There are actually three versions, viz., one for 9.6 VDC NiMH packs, one for the 13.2 VDC NiMH packs for the FT-897, and one for 12 VDC SLA batteries. The two NiMH fast chargers use negative voltage slope detection with a 180-minute timeout to prevent inadvertent overcharging, and power (green) and fast charge (red) LED indicators. The nominal output current of the OFC-817 is 1000 mA while the nominal output of the OTT-897 is 1250 mA. The chargers all use the standard Molex RC connector typical of the Radio Shack 9.6 VDC NiMH battery packs and the OPP fast charge cable (supplied with the OPP). This technique allows you to use the OFC to quickly and easily connect to the OPP or to other 9.6 VDC NiMH battery packs. The power input to the OFC uses 4-pin connector (two for AC and two for DC inputs). The supplied wall wart plugs connects via this connector. You may also use any DC supply to power, e.g., the OFC-817 as long as the voltage is >14 VDC and < 16 VDC.

Exactly as Advertised!

|
I have been using my OFT with my FT-897 for years and just noticed this review section. This charger works very well, as advertised, and it cost much less than the OEM product.
I woud buy it again.

I purchased the 'One Fast Charger' for my FT-897. It worked fine for almost a year, then it smoked. The service was outstanding. It was repaired and sent back right away. This is one organization that stands behind there product, not only when the product is new, but well after. Other companies could learn from these guys!

I ordered the Fast Charger and the 2700mah battery pack. Increased my operating time considerably between charges, and makes for an easy charge connection.

Great but expensive

Ordered mine some time ago in the United Kingdom because it is not available in Germany or Austria. All I can say is that it is a bit pricy, but it works really great and charges the W4RT-pack very very fast. Recommended!
