Great product, well worth the money, fine craftsmanship and construction, nice appearance. A power ON-OFF switch would be nice. I may add one myself.

I just got it hooked up....works great. The thing that I am more impressed with...the service. WB8VGE hand built this thing and got it out to me the same day. THAT is unbelievable! He really goes the extra mile for his customers.
That said, I will do business with this guy anytime. The piece is great, love the standby switch...has multiple options for powering up....can be used with remote key switch. Great product!

Great product - but .....

I hate to be the one to ruin the perfect rating for this product. It is a well designed product that does exactly what advertises. I would readily give it a 5 rating myself except for the fact that I think it is ridiculous for a product such as this that costs $50 to omit a necessary power connector pig-tail that would cost no more that 25 cents. I hate having to scrounge around for parts to complete a new product and make it functional, especially when there is no conceivable reason for the ommission.

I bought my AmpKeyer to interface my Kenwood TS-2000 and a Heathkit SB-200. It does exactly what it was made for. Great construction and easy to use. 73, Thomas N7BFK

Update: flawless after 3 years
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

I recently purchased a larger desk and have my station spread out. My amplifier rests on top of a two-drawer file cabinet, apart from the rest of the station. It has a very quiet fan, and its meter lights burned out years ago.
So, besides its main role as a buffer between the PTT output of a microHam CW keyer and the amplifier keying relay, my AmpKeyer provides indicator lights to remind me the amplifer is turned on, plus a standby switch within convenient reach. It is very compact.
I don't hesitate to recommend this excellent and well-constructed product to anyone who wants the protection provided by such an interface.

GREAT product

I'm using the AmpKeyer between my Icom IC-736 and either my Ameritron AL-80B or my Heathkit SB-200 and it works GREAT! It also gives me a nice standby switch for the SB-200, and connecting the AmpKeyer was a piece of cake. If you need an amplifier interface, you can't go wrong with The AmpKeyer.

Excellent Product

Super little gagit! Works like a charm! I have two of them..one is used between a switch selected IC-706MKIIG/FT-240 to key a Heathkit HA-14 linear. The other is used between a Yaesu FT-101B to key a Hunter Bandit 2000B. Both Ampkeyers use the replay output and work flawlessly. Neither of the linears has a built in stand-by switch..so the stand-by switch capability of the AmpKeyer is nice to have and works great. I'm currently putting my forth station online driving an SB-220 and will be using another AmpKeyer with the SB-220.
Correction to my earlier review of the Ampkeyer. I"m using it with an Yaesu FT-840 not 240 (a mistype).

I have had the amp keyer for well over a year, and since it always works I never think of it...The product works as described, and is the perfect solution to driving your amp, with one of the newer solid state rigs...K2LGO
