Poor Man's Collins  Time owned: more than 12 months
Possibly one of the best values in amateur gear at the time. Leading edge technology - stable, dependable, and attractive. This radio, and it's sisters, were responsible for thousands of pleasurable QSO's.

Mine still functions well after 30 years of service.

Thay don't make them like thay used to anymore  Time owned: more than 12 months
I bought a used 20 year old SB-101 as my first HF rig shortly after getting my license, I used the SB-101 for almost 15 years without any problems before I decided to "get with the times" and sold it to purchase a newer solid state radio.
I figured the SB-101 was over 30 years old at the time I sold it, and still worked and looked pretty good for it's age. Rig seems to have held it's value over the years. I'd be lucky to get 30 years out of my new solid state rig.
