An ultra high amp/ultra low weight power supply.  Time owned: more than 12 months
Tired of having to use a 30lb power supply for your 5 lb mobile rig at your home QTH.

The TODD SPF-750 is for you. It will output 60 Amps and not even get hot. It is a 750 watt power supply.

It is the size of a carton of cancerettes, and weighs in at 5lbs.

The secret, no 110V to low voltage stepdown tranformer.

The 110 VAC is DC rectified right at the line.
An oscillator at 40khz is driven. Thusly no large
filter caps either. It is fully regulated and short circuit proof.

You can power 2 100 watt HF rigs and a 150Watt
VHF amplifier at the same time.

It is 1/4 the weight of the average 22 amp power supply.

It will also power a 500 watt PEP solid state linear, Like the SKYWALKER for 20 meters.

The original use for these GEMS is for mobile homes, when parked and AC is available.

Needless to say you can jump start a truck.

A friend of miine bought 10 of them at a hamfest.
$100 each.

Retail I do not know. The company is TODD products in Brentwood New Jersey.
