Great Stuff
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
I have owned the FTV 901R for 8 years when i got my FT902dm and both work very well together. Luckily I managed to purchase mine with all 3 modules for 2m/6m/70cm fitted as these can be hard to get hold of.
With 10 watts output on all three bands on all modes I have had great contacts and reports, facility to use repeaters with split controls (there is one mod to be made to use 1.6mhz shift on 70cm which is just a case of swapping round 2 wires!) if you use 6m repeaters then you will need to install a ctcss circuit which can easily be done. Very easy to use, reliable and looks great with the FT 902 line up or FT 101zd. Iam intending to use mine with the FT 102(again a couple of wires have to be moved round)
When I purchased mine it needed re-alignment slightly due to age, but if you have to yourself be careful as some parts of the alignment instructions in the manual are incorrect.
One nice thing is that the transverter allows you to connect up your HF aerial so that when you turn the unit off you can play hf and when you switch the transverter on you can operate on VHF/UHF,simple as that, nice and easy and saves you the trouble of dis-connecting and re-connecting.

Excellent with FT-902DM
|
Time owned: 0 to 3 months

Hi,
Worked EA7 from G with Spradic-E (over 1000 miles), with 10W, copper pipe J-Pole in attic using FT-902DM and FTV-901R.
signals 59/59. If you own a 901/902 I would recommend.
