Vertex VX600 Reviews: 1 Average rating: 5.0/5 MSRP: $500
Description: Rugged, Durable Portables Ideal for Factory or Fleet ! The VX-600 radio was designed to give you reliable, rugged performance in a lightweight, feature rich package. Beginning with its Lithium Ion battery, the VX-600 leads the market in innovative, useful, features. The Lithium Ion battery provides a lighter weight battery (compared to NiCd, or NiMh), with increased battery capacity! Also, the Lithium Ion design eliminates the memory effect of NiCd from the past.

Great tough HT  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This is probably the most rugged HT I have ever owned. This HT is very rugged. It has 48 channels PL, and DPL is also standard features. You can get the keypad or you can forget the keypad my model has the keypad and for a ham its great to have the keypad. I use mine for public safety, business and ham. YOu can have 3 banks of 16 channels which are selected by the channel selector knob. Fast scan, squelch tail elimination, 2400 MAh Lit-Ion battery, spring belt clip, SMA antenna connector, 8 programmable buttons (16 key model, 3 position programmable toggle switch, minium AF level programmable great for incase your radio gets turned down. All in all its a great radio.
