Hace 9 años, Len me envió un cable interfaz LPT1 para TS-830-S   Time owned: more than 12 months

This is a really clever idea -- a serial rig control cable with a breakout plug wired to the DTR pin. Len calls it a CW sending plug, because that pin is customarily used for serial port cw sending, but depending on the software it could be used for other functions. My own CQPWIN software allows it to be used for CW sending, PTT, R1/R2 swap, or DVK/Mic swap. In use you need to set the software to keep the RTS pin high, because that's the power source, then you can "key" the DTR pin as needed. Of course, the rest of the pins do the normal job of sending rig control information to and from the radio.
It works like a champ, and Len is very quick to respond to orders or emails.

Great Idea  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This is really a great idea for serial port challenged hams like myself. With only two serial ports available, having a dual cable that only uses one serial port leaves the other one open for future use with an Idiom Press RS232 rotor controller. I am using it with DX4WIN and it works just fine.

Works well  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
As advertised, this cable both controls my Icom IC706MKIIG and sends CW, using the single comm port on my Dell PC. The circuitry is built into the 9-pin comm port connector, and gets its power from the port. I have tried it with two software packages: Writelog and DXLab Commander.

I was the very first customer, and initially had a problem with the CW output. However, Len resolved the problem, and sent me a corrected cable even before asking me to return the first one. Good customer service, and I don't think this problem will occur on new orders.
