Great Antenna! But... not currently available.  Time owned: more than 12 months
Howdy all.

I have been using End Fedz 20M and 40M antennas for some years and they are outstanding in all respects.

My QTH limits me to having only up at a time and when I went to look for my EF-20 it had disappeared. (Daughter / Grand Spring Cleaning I Think.)

I sent an email to Dale for current pricing. Along with the price list was this attachment:

Please note: Due to an ongoing high volume of military and aerospace orders, we have suspended amateur production until 08/01/09. Please do not place orders before this date. Thank you for your patience. In the end, the amateurs benefit, as they receive the same high quality designs and components that our government demands.

I have been looking without success for any Ham Radio outlet who might have one in stock. Universals antenna page even states that they are Discontinued.

If you come across a source please email me at K8QLW@knology.net

Thanks.

Great Performance - Superb quality - Fantastic support  Time owned: more than 12 months
I own two of Dale's EndFedz and just ordered four more for our club. The superb quality of these antennas is surpassed only by thier performance. I could go on and on about all the contacts I have made using these antennas, but we all know under the right conditions any antenna will work. The Par EndFedz just happen to work very, very, very well! Great Quality! Great Performance! Great customer support with a willingness to give an extra effort when requested! An uncommon combination rarely found in today’s business environment. - I say "Bravo" to Dale and Par Electronics!

High Quality - Excellent!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Here are my initial observations regarding these end-fed dipoles after a couple of months of heavy duty use. The antennas are built extremely well and made to to last; the manufacturer quickly responds to emails/phone calls and shipment of his product was made as scheduled. I have 5 of these antennas for field/QRP use, including the multiband version, and typically use them in a sloping configuration where SWR has proven to be quite low and performance outstanding. This is the ideal antenna for portable/field use. I'll probably be picking up a few more to mount permanently in my attic for inclement weather operation...

Excellent  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I used the PAR SWL antenna when I was just a listener in my youth. Now on HF , I live in HOA-ville. ( Home owners Assoc.). The PAR Electronics end fed half wave antennas are great. If you have limited space or restricted, you need not look any further for your antennas. I like them so much that when I retire out to the country , I will still use them without hesitation. Coast to Coast on 10m with the 10m H version no problems at all. I was only using 100 watts 25 ft. off the ground. Customer Service is what it's all about.

Ultra-Professional ! ! !  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Only had my EF-40 (40 meter end-fed dipole) up for a few days now, more evaluation as to its performance is in order. I'll post more later here. But, so far it acts as stated at the End-Fedz website, just like a center-fed dipole. Built of the best wire, insulators and connectors; the same materials choices I make when I fabricate homebrews. Materials are chosen to last. Super-easy to deploy. Mine's horizontal on a pulley system.

"Now for something completely different:" Customer service and assistance is the best I've experienced from ANY company whatsoever. I'm over 60 years, so I'm speaking from experience. The absolute best ! ! ! Had a bit of trouble at first tuning up my EF-40. With a couple of exchanges back and forth via email, Dale Parfitt, debugged the problem - there was absolutely nothing wrong with the antenna, rather it was a combination of my lack of antenna experience and a couple of environmental factors that were the culprits. Dale is not only one of the most knowledgeable Hams I've come across, he is the Elmer of all Elmers as far as I'm concerned. He not only goes the extra miles to help; his response is light-speed as well.

Fantastic Product!  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
Works as well or better than described in the reviews below. Dale is available and willing to assist if needed. The antenna is professionally made, with clear and simple instructions.

The antenna is lightweight and great for portable / emergency use. I don't think you will be disappointed with this antenna. I will purchase other models for additional bands soon.

Get one of these NOW!  Time owned: more than 12 months
I don't think I can adequately express how happy I am with my EF-20 from Par Electronics. I originally bought this very simple gem for the 2007 Virginia QSO Party. Since it was only for 20 meters however, I ended up using a different antenna (probably not a good idea).

I hooked the antenna up perhaps once or twice since then, with good results, but never did any lengthy operations and of course propagation (as it is) is not the greatest.

Fast forward to January of 2009 and I have orders in hand to go to Iraq to join the Navy's Counter Radio Controlled IED Mission in support of our Army brothers-in-arms. I pushed off a license request to IARS (Iraqi Amateur Radio Society) and started figuring on what I would bring, not knowing what I could put up when I got where I was going (knew none of that either). Stuffed the IC-7000, the AT-7000 and the EF-20 in a pelican case (along with some cables) and called it good.

After some really fun training at Fort Dix, New Jersey, I finally got in country, did another week of training on the mission and found myself at FOB Kalsu (40 miles south of Baghdad) on the 25th of March. Low and behold, my Iraqi license arrived about a week later!

Slapped the EF-20 behind my CHU, the high end tied off to a 20' steel pole, supported by T-Walls. In about a week I have made just under 500 contacts! All over Europe and Asia, with three stateside. Quite impressive, despite the fact that I am operating as YI9TM (moderately rare DX). Very happy with my little EF-20!

These things are durable and elegant in their simplicity and ruggedness of contstruction. I have the EF-20 100W version, but will definately be buying some more! Thanks for the great product and customer service Dale!

John

AMAZING AGAIN!  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I have owned and used a Par EF-20 100 watt antenna for some time now. I ordered the EF-20 300 watt antenna and also the Par EF-40. I placed both of them in-line as one, with about 6 ft. separation between antennas with nylon parachute cord. AGAIN, they both work superb. they are configured as a sloper about 25' high at one end to 60' high at the other. A total of 99' of wire antenna. I cannot say enough good things about these antennas. Others have said that they are equal to a full size dipole-I say they exceed a dipole in every aspect. They will now be my fixed station antennas. I hope Dale makes an 80 meter version :)... I also have the EF-SWL for international broadcasts which I have not put up yet. Great performing antennas, Great price and great service from Dale Parfit.

Excellent  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
This review is from a new HAM (both Tech and General in Jan 2009) so bear that in mind. I needed a simple antenna I could use while I built my permanent antenna. I got the 40 and 20 Meter End-Fedz and have used them since mid-March. I live in a valley in Idaho just west of the Continental Divide at 4000 ft. Good news: very rural area very minimal man-made noise; bad news: irrigated desert land (ground fair at best) and no trees. Currently using 35 ft push-up fiberglass poles (~ 31'). Rig: Icom IC-756 Pro III, max 100 Watts, LMR-400 coax.

My results: Contacts in 29 states including Alaska and Hawaii and DX in Canada, Mexico, Japan, Cook Islands, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia and Russia. Pile-ups: Can I break through against a quad or yagi, not with an overwhelming signal, only through listening and anticipation. I have been in several pile-ups and made a few contacts. Any omni-directional antenna has major disadvantages in a pile-up when up against a station with power and gain.

I have tried to contact stations with wire antennas and at 100 Watts. I have had several Q5 contacts under these conditions with signal reports of 5.5 to 5.9. When contacting DX stations I assume I was using their RX and TX power and gain to my advantage, they were pulling me out of the mud. However, I have also had DX QSOs lasting 10 to 15 minutes, maybe not armchair but very comfortable.

I have used both antennas as horizontal, the 20 M as a vertical and sloper, and the 40 M as an inverted L. The 40 M seems best as an inverted L and the 20 M does well as a horizontal or sloper. I have not trimmed length.

All of these kinds of reviews are subjective. I am just adding my 2 cents. Would I buy another Par antenna, you bet.

W7GAH - Jerry
