Quick up, quick down

This is clearly the best wire antenna I've ever had .
It can't get any simpler : 33 feet and a little box at the rig.
No tuner, no coax, one support--- that's it.
The QSOs just keep coming.
End of report

The LNR 40/20/10 has performed miracles for me.. I just had a 5200 miles QSO on 40m putting out only 1.2W! I've hard Russia before on 5W.. End-fed wires work really well for QRP. I use a slingshot and fishing weight to shoot a line up a tree and hoist the antenna. It has become my permanent antenna at home and is holding up well in lots of heat and humidity.

15 meters rocks

I love my 20 meter End Fedz. Got the XYL to agree to a few more wires in the backyard. So strung 15 and 10 meter End Fedz. This in addition to my 20 meter. After climbing ladders and stairs 100 times today, turned on the rig at 5PM to see what was there. Expecting a dead 15 meter band, Found a guy in Hawaii 599. Love this stuff. Don't need a beam. lol
Black rope, tied to a tree out back, you can hardly see the stuff. And there are now three.

I don't have the luxury of a fancy beam. I stealthily ran the EndFedz 20m out the (third story) back window. Down sloped to nearby tree. Very carefully trimmed and get close to 1:1 across all 20M. I have worked Each corner of the US with my Icom IC-7200. Heard Auz but got stomped in the pileup. I'll get him next time. HI loud and clear. 20M marine net no problem. The simple dipole antenna is just amazing.

This antenna (40/20/10) has performed awesomely for me. Russia on 5W and I was just picked up by a reverse beacon 575 miles away on 100mW! I can even use it on 6m a bit with a 2.5:1 SWR without a tuner. Mine is vertically mounted, with the match box about 10ft off the ground. I use it as my primary, permanently installed antenna. I plan on buying another one to carry around on camping trips.

I am on both the DXCC and IOTA Honor Rolls. When I was planning my fifth IOTA DXpedition, this time to NA-112, Bogue Banks, NC, I wanted to bring a 40 meter antenna specifically for 40 meter PSK31. After reading all the reviews, I wrote to LNR Precision, asking if they could cut an EF-40 for 7.035 MHz (I don't own an antenna analyzer). Yes they could!
Soon thereafter, I ordered that antenna and then took it out to our oceanfront rental QTH. My wife and I strung it as a sloper from the second floor balcony down to the wooden walkway over the dunes facing the Atlantic.
Boy, did that antenna ROCK over saltwater, as I made several hundred Qs on 40 at night with my K3/100 (with internal tuner).
I highly recommend the LNR EndFedz. They do what they are intended to do and the company's customer service is amazing.

Outstanding Performance

I just finished installing the 40 Meter End-Fed today. It's in a sloper configuration up a tree about 60 feet on the high end and about 7 feet on the end-fed side. I didn't do any trimming, just hooked up a piece of coax to my antenna analyzer and SWR was 1.2 - 1 for the digital part (7.0386 mhz) of the band. I fired up the WSPR 2.11 tranmitting 5 watts. On the first look at receive reports from stations hearing me I was amazed! I was heard throughout Europe (DK,EI,G3,LA,OK,OZ,PA,SV,4X)on just 5 watts! I also noticed I was heard down under in VK land! It's a keeper! Lets see how well it holds up to the elements....

This is a follow-up on my 11/13/07 and 4/19/11 reviews of my Par antennas.
The only change since 4/19/11 is that my DXCC phone count is 188 (all on an EF-17 & EF-20).

I purchased a few of these for QRP about two years ago. In the past 2 years, I never took them out of the box. Today, I took my 8 year old daughter to the driveway, setup a 21' mast on a tripod with the EF-15 on top. Sloped the antenna to a bush in the front of the house, hooked up the FT-817ND while holding it in the palm of my hand and heard spain calling CQ on 15M. I made one call and "boom", contact made with 58 sig report. Next, heard Germany calling CQ, put out one call and "bam", 59 report from Germany with disbelief.
My daughter and I stood in shock as to both the band conditions and the two contacts made in 5 minutes with 3W!!
I have been running everything under the sun over the last 20 years. These two contacts were some of the most fun/impressive I have had in a long time.
Great antenna. Simple setup...perfect in every way.

My inventory is EF-20, EF-30 and EF-40, some I have two! Works fantastic. Right now I have EF-20 and EF-30 on the condo roof, about 3-5 ft over a row of air conditioners. Qth Palm Beach, FL. I can work almost anything I can hear, lots of Europe, some Africa, South America, it is amazing. Rig IC756P3, 40 W, PSK-modes only.
It is so simple and really gets out!
