Great and simple kit

My wife and I just put one of these together last night. It took maybe an hour or two to put the entire kit together. Everything was labeled well and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. Both of us were amazed to hear radio signals coming in when I hooked it up to my antenna. It's still amazing that some wire, a pencil lead, a razor blade, and a few other simple materials is all it takes to pick up radio signals. All the kits from this company are high quality kits that look great, work great and sound great. 73, James KB2FCV

Back to basics

I found Borden Radio Company's website while perusing the Xtal Set Society webpage. after looking at the various kits and parts that Lance Borden offered ( Armstrong one -tube,Pickard crystal set, cat whiskers, crystals, etc.) I decided to purchase a simple razor blade foxhole radio.
After receiving the kit a few days later, I had it together in a about an hour. In fact, the only hard part of this kit is winding the coil. (I had wound 75% of the coil when my thumb slipped and the whole thing became unspooled! It was a mess, but it teaches you humility and adds character.)
The kits Borden Radio offers are well made and rate high on the "fun factor" meter. (At least for a middle aged dinosaur like me!)
If you are bored of contests and endless CW debates, need to "rekindle the fire" for radio, or just get your mind off of "stuff", you very likely will find what you need at Borden Radio Company.
