A very reliable amplifier  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have had my TE Systems 1452G for over 10 years. I have used it on FM, SSB and lately with WSJT program. It just keeps on working reliably.

Excellent Repeater Amp  Time owned: more than 12 months
My brother and I have had a 220 mhz TE repeater amp in service since 1992. The amp is 130 watts output and we have always ran it at about 120 watts out. This amp has been a workhorse and has never needed repair. It is still online and works flawlessly! I am impressed with the quality of this amp. The amp has an oversized heatsink from the factory and runs slightly warm. The repeater cabinet has a fan for cooling and obviously has worked well. If anyone has any questions regarding the TE amp that has been in service for the past 18 years, email me at timothyhunley@juno.com That amp has never been pulled, not even for one day.

Just plain BAD  Time owned: more than 12 months
Bad service AND bad amps!

But some people still talk them up as they feel they have to because of the terrible high rip off price they paid for them!

Poor engineering when a little bit of overdrive will smoke them! Even the ill regarded Mirage will handle more input power without the smoke getting out than the TE junk!

Send it in to be looked at and get a bill for over a hundred bucks telling you that it is not worthwhile fixing!

Excellent customer service& advertised power!  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I picked up a 1410G last winter from all the good reviews I had read about TE systems compared to MFJ/Mirage.(funny how I see these couple have been the wors I've read)
Anyway, I use this amp in a mobile app and it is always reliable and gets me out there when the radio alone doesn't have enought horsepower.
I run a Hustler Collinear CG-144 antenna and the combo has been a real great powerhouse match!
I wanted to do the 70CM pass through mod and contacted TE Systems via phone and they walked me through the VERY simple mod to allow 70CM to pass through this 2 meter amp without the severe attenuation.
Very happy with TE Systems and would HIGHLY recommend them.
I am looking at possibly picking up their 375Watt HPA with the preamp for the base.
Hopefully you don't have to "MOD" theirs like the Mirage to keep the preamp from blowing!(Mirage A-1015G)

TE Systems--Two Thumbs up!!

Never agin  Time owned: 6 to 12 months
I have had two of the high power two meter amps. These things are nothing but trouble. Back and forth to TE every time you run them. Dave at TE told me the last one was over driven. This amp was suppose to take 25 watts of drive. My rig put out 10 watts on my Bird 43, Coax D, and my HP. Every time I talked with Dave he gave me trouble. A nice Commander-11 fixed my trouble.

TE1452G  Time owned: more than 12 months
I own a TE Systems 1452G amplifier for 2 meters tuned for the 435 repeater in Los Angeles, CA and it ROCKS! A couple of years ago the starter system you needed if you wanted to talk on 435 was a 1452g and a 26B2 beam antenna array, both of which I purchased. I powered the amp. with an Astron RS-70M power supply. Dave Andersen of TE has a special mod. for 435'ers which consists of extra cooling vents (for those long key downs) ask for the KEK special. The amp. has been accidently over driven with 50 watts on numerous occasions and it has never failed. It still puts out nearly 400 watts! Since I've never had to send it in for service I can't comment on the repair or warranty work complaint above. I've had this amp. for over two years and it's great.

1452G vhf Amp  Time owned: more than 12 months
I have been using the 1452G amplifier for over 10 years, and yes I had one fail, due to high SWR's after several years had passed. I sent it off for repairs, and also purchased another one in the meantime. Secret is, USE the PROPER POWER SUPPLY, adequate cooling, and let the good times roll. This AMP is AWESOME, and built like a TANK. Hams can tear anything up, if you work at it long enough, but used as advertised will reward operator with YEARS of Quality Service.
