Great Service!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Okay, this is going to be a strange review.

I've been having some odd, intermittent problems with my FT-890.

I wrote to a couple of the better-reviewed repair companies, explained the problem, and asked for comments, thoughts.

I'm still waiting to hear from most of them.

I heard back from Bill. He didn't tell me about his schedule, or how long it'd take to fix. He gave me a short list of things to look into.

We exchanged several E-Mails over the next few hours, and sure enough, it was a simple power connection issue -- probably a bad fuse.

Total repair cost? $0.

An honest and upstanding business!  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I recently acquired a Kenwood TS-520S and after giving it a thorough cleaning, put it on the air. I noticed what I thought were some problems, which I communicated to Bill along with a request that he take it and do his "full monte" repair routine plus whatever else the rig needed.

Bill responded almost immediately with his assessment of my perceived problems and provided me with some simple tests to verify whether or not it was a problem. I performed the tests and it turned out that the rig was exactly as Bill said; healthy!

My point is that Bill didn't have to provide me with all the free advice; he could very well have told me to send it in with a blank check, but he didn't.

So when the rig is ready for major repair or restoration, you can bet that it's going to B&B. Trust him; he's an honest professional!

TS-850  Time owned: more than 12 months
Well, for all the Canadians reading this, I had a very hard time finding anyone in Canada who would repair my 850. I read the reviews here and decided to jump on the bandwagon and send my rig to Bill. Even with the additional hassle of customs. everything went way better than I had hoped for. Bill is a great person to deal with, and the repairs and full monte treatment still came in less than the quoted price. I would not hesitate to allow Bill to work on my equipment again, as the rig is performing as good as new or better with a few additional tweaks and mods. Customs was not a problem. With only a little additional paperwork on both ends, ithe radio cleared with ease. All e-mails were responded to in a very timely manner. Fantastic overall experience......Great Job Bill.

very very bad-awful  Time owned: months
Got a good reference on him from the other ham op. ( probably his friend).
Have sent him working radio for allignment. After
three months got e-mail from him that radio is still on working bench not checked and was damaged by delivery courier. After three months u can imagine!!!! I insured radio for $500 but after three months no way to make a claim. And after all he told me that it is not repairable!!!!
He demanded $60 for sending it to me back.
So he grabed my radio for nothing and I paid for shiiping it and have to bay to get broken radio back to me. Wow!!!
Wud greatly advise to all other HAMs not to trust and not to deal with. No excuse from him after all.

Boatanchor Service  Time owned: more than 12 months
Over the course of the past 15 years, Bill has repaired a Collins 32V-1, a Collins 75A3, and a Viking Valiant for me. On a second trip, Bill modded and re-capped the Valiant, making it my favorite AM xmtr. Last summer, when it looked like the rig needed fixing, Bill's superior troubleshooting identified the fault in the operator, not the rig. Most embarassing, but most helpful. Both are now operating as intended. Bill and Bonnie are the greatest!

excellent!!  Time owned: more than 12 months
I recently received my ts 440 back from Billīs
shop and his Service was "Excellent". Bill and i exchanged emails before, during and after the service. His service rates are more than fair and the turn around time was excellent.
great Job Bill.

Great service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I have a Ft 1000D with some years on it, but I still find that I use this rig the most.

I sent it to Bill to have him go over it due to its age. Both he and Bonnie did an absolutely excellent job of receiving, shipping and checking out the rig.

Highly recommended.

TS-2000 Improved!  Time owned: more than 12 months
I recently sent my 7 year old TS-2000 to Bill for a going over. I had always thought this rig was not tuned for optimum at the factory. After getting the rig back from Bill, I think I was right. Bill gave it a good alignment, making it much more sensitive (I no longer use the pre-amp, making it much more quiet), did the 60 Meter mod and installed the INRAD filter mod, making it much more selective (great on SSB and fantastic on CW!). I am now very pleased with the rig. Bill's work was perfect. He did not put a scratch on it, and kept me informed by email every step of the way. His prices are also very reasonable. If I could rate B&B higher than a 5, I would. Bill will be getting all of my repair work from now on. Highly recommended.

Icom 746 Pro  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
Recently, I sent my Icom 746 Pro to Bill for the back light and the driver to be repaired. The back light got fixed, but the driver was still not repaired.

Bill is an awfully nice gentlemen, and offered to fix the problem again, if I sent the radio back to him. He would not charge for labor, but only parts. Nice offer, but not good enough. As everyone knows shipping is expensive, plus the inconvenience involved.

I had read the reviews here and not a bad comment at all, well sorry Bill. I sent you the radio, your the expert, I paid you promptly and I did get what was expected.

I will be honest, I did not press Bill to take better action, but thought maybe being a good business person he would had offered something better.

Excellent Service  Time owned: 0 to 3 months
I sent my TS-850 out to Bill for their "Full Monte" repair and mod treatment. Not only does the radio perform great now, the turn around time was very short.
