cheap and works

I bought one of these on ebay with the single ear phone to rig up for the 706 mobile. I think it cost 6 bucks with shipping. Fixed up a 75 cent ptt switch in a lipstick case and connected the lot to half of an ethernet patch cord and look,a really cheap mobile headset, that works. I know it aint hifi, but it works and lets face it we are talking mobile HF with 100 watts. Who needs hifi? My 1st contact using it was with an ON station with my 100 watts and hamstick on 20M and he said the mic sounded fine. I rigged it up to my 756p2 and listened on the monitor and it sounds identical (to my ears) to the icom hm-36.
Try it it was fun to do the jerry rig and it works for a cheapskate like me.

WONDERFUL #4# $4$

**UPDate**
The headset is stero and works GREAT.
The mic can be used with a little alteration to worh with almost any rig. Light weight and CHEAP.
Liked it so well and the $$ tag ($14.95 at Walmart). I got one for each computer (2) and one for my station.

Just a great little set of ear/mic phones
The 8 ohm head set sounds just wonderful. Light weight and a 9 yes 9' cord :>) I run on my Yaesu.
With a little work the condenser mic will play
and BINGO !!! Just a low cost great set.
Heck the ear phone set is well worth that alone.
Got mine at wally mart after talking to Greg W8GB he runs his on an Icom sounds as good as the Icom Mic.
