My application was spaced limited and Chris the President of Mag Cap, took it into his own hands to come up with a suitable transformer for my application which was a 8877 retrofitted Ten-Tec Titan II. I fed Chris the current, voltage and size parameters and 3 hours later e-mailed a blueprint/outline drawing of the proposed transformer. Exactly 9 days after the transformer arrived well packaged in foam/heavy box. Wow, what speedy caring, hands on service and a nice looking transformer as well as shown in the photo above.! All connections clearly marked and neetly mounted below the top of the transformer.
The size came in a little smaller due to standard core restrictions but it runs only slightly warm to the touch after a full weekend of contesting. Amazing! Voltage sag is about 200 vdc/key down which is to be expected with this type of transformer/application.
After many years of dealing with other manufactures in my 37 year Ham career, the service and quality is excellent and I would recommended if you are looking for a good source of high voltage and medium voltage transformers or replacements for boatanchor radio's that you seriously consider speaking with these folks. They know their business well and pricing is very competitive. Excellent product, very freindly knowledgeable service. In conversation with Chris, they offer many sizes, current ratings and voltages for most all applications with a long history in the Government and Defense business.
