Useful Unit

Time owned: 6 to 12 months

I purchased a factory-wired unit to chase down a VHF jammer. The unit, itself, does work and, with care, can provide useful direction finding information. The equipment itself is awfully flimsy, however. For example, the mag-mount antennas provided are not suitable for moving-vehicle usage owing to incredibly weak magnets and whips. I elected to buy some better antennas and install the required diodes and inductors. Given the price and passable functionality, I'll give it a grade "C".
