Exc Speaker for Hamming!
|
Time owned: more than 12 months
|
I now owned two sets of these covering a span of 15 years. I haven't found a better bookshelf speaker anywhere for general narrowband (200-4000 Hz)use in ham radio applications. The tonal qualities of these are something to behold.
These were quality built, professional speakers with serious transducers - both the mid/low frequency element and the tweeter could handle a fair amount of power. Presently, the line output of my HF rig is driving an outboard Bogen 20 watt PA amplifier, which in turn drives this JBL Pro III. This outboard, "clean" audio combination really makes the difference when recovering critical audio at all listening levels.
If you can find a nice used pair, pick them up. You will be presently surprised. From this review, you could surmise that they might also sound great on a "HiFi" stereo system. You're right... they do. 73.
