Description: IonoProbe is a 32 bit Windows application that lives in the System Tray and monitors the space weather parameters essential for HF radio. The list of parameters includes SSN/SFI, Ap/Kp, X-ray/Proton flux, and Auroral activity. IonoProbe downloads near-real time satellite and ground station data, stores information for future use and displays it in a user-friendly way.
Time-critical parameters, such as X-ray flux, proton flux and auroral index, are updated every 15 minutes. An alarm can be set up to notify you of a storm within a few minutes after its start.
Can integrate with the programs DX Atlas and Ham CAP.

Solar Weather EASY!
|
Time owned: more than 12 months

This is a great little program. It runs all by itself and collects all the solar weather and propogation information you need in one spot. As my computer is always up and running in the shack, it allows me, at a glance, to have an idea what band conditions may be like. It also provides you with information to plug into other programs like W6ELPROP for propogation forecasts.
Alex, VE3NEA is the author of this and host of other programs found at www.dxatlas.com. I recently moved my copy of the program to a new computer and couldn't find a copy of my registration key. An email to Alex was answered in an hour! Great service, great program.

Great Stuff

I'm surprised there are no other reviews here - this is a great little utility. The program sits in the System tray and informs you of current solar activity and, if you want, will alert you of storm conditions when they occur. I use it with DX Atlas since it interacts to give you up-to-date visual propagation information as well.
This program also peaked my curiosity to learn more about solar propagation with it's clever little question mark that pops up whenever you highlight a heading.
