Excellent dual bander, reliable and well built  Time owned: 3 to 6 months
The HW-24 has been my main rig for monitoring repeaters at home for the last few months. Made by Standard for Heathkit in the very late '80s and early 90s these are reliable, solid rigs. The HW-24 has very good audio on both transmit and receive, nice dual display (blue on black background), 20 memories including two call channels, the ability to program tones individually into each memory. I have the low power version which puts out 10W on each band. I've found it adequate but I live in a major metro area.

I really like this rig but I am parting with it to upgrade to a tribander. If you don't need 222MHz and a 2m/70cm dual bander is what you want you really can't go wrong with an HW-24. The only issue may be service as I am not sure who, if anyone, works on these any more.
